AAAKK, Joystick took a dump

The left motion on the player one joystick is no more , is there any quick things i can try ? Also is there a joystick made that can withstand a person with Hulk like strength? (me= teh hulk)
Also i am not very technically inclide so talk slow and use small words.

2 slot MVS cab , forgot to mention that

Open your controll panel.... Make sure both wires are connected to the left switch (will be on the right hand side.)

While running,
take the wires off and touch them together, if it makes the charecter move, then your switch is bad. If the charecter doesn't move left, then your wireing is bad.

while the machine is running or are you suggesting i should run cause i'm fat?

LOL Maybe you should stick to jogging first then build up to running.

Yeah what he said above it's pretty simple, if the sticks have quick disconnects, and you can easily pull them off, touching together, while the game is on & running, you should see movement in that direction. But the microswitches are reversed from the way the stick moves up top, so you have check the opposite side.

So if touching the contacts together makes it work, then you know it's in the microswitch, if it does nothing, then there's a short somewhere in the wiring.

If it is a switch, I'd suggest taking the microswitch off the second player D button. It will fix your problem & make you a better fighter player in the process! Just remember to always pick 1-player side.

i beat on the stick from side to side , and that seems to have worked, must have been stuck , lucky for the person who sold it to me as i was going to kill them and mung the corpse, thanks for the replies.
