I didn't miss out on anything......

I deal heavily on ebay... 1-2 sales and 2-3 buys per week...

In all of my time on ebay, I have only had 4 auctions canceled on me.... Two were from people advertising thier auctions on these boards. One was because of a mistaken duplicate listing.

Well you'll learn that auctions here, especially Neo stuff, get pulled down very often. People make offers and sometimes sellers take them.

I think that pulling auctions is a failure of Integrity......

I have had auctions finnish for $.01 with $1.99 Shipping for a moderately valubale nes game.... Did I pull it ???? hell no..... Then the buyer didn't even leave positive feedback.

While i personally understand that the seller has the right to do whatever they want to the auction (keep it or take it down), I myself hate this practice. I agree with norton that this is a failure of integrity, if you put it up on auction you should expect to stick the auction out. If people really want offers on their item they should try to sell it first, then ebay it afterwards. Its things like these that make me avoid ebay.

The seller can do whatever he wants -

It's his item listed, if he doesn't like the price he's getting, or gets a better offer, or has a change of heart, and can end the auction.

If you don't like it, don't ebay  .

I must say that I'm not a big fan of seeing auctions end early. Whether it's not the price you want or you sold it already. My opinion is that if you want a certain price, use a reserve for it or BuyItNow only auction. That way you're not disappointed if it sells for $0.01. I always get offers for stuff I sell, but it screws the other people who may have wanted it too.

Actually eBay has a policy I believe against ending auctions early. If you do it repeatedly they may suspend your account since you are essentially using them for advertising and paying them minimal fees.

That's just the eBay way....

If a seller wants to pull an item, that's his choice. How do you know what his or her reasoning is? I've pulled auctions for good offers before, and I've pulled them when I changed my mind. It sucks to "miss out" on an item that gets pulled, but ultimately, you have no right to that item unless you win an auction as a high bidder that successfully closes. Just accept it. Selling isn't a "FAIR" practice. It's whoever ponies up the money that the seller wants first. Simple as that. The world is not a fair place.

This is from the eBay Sellers Info Help section:

Sometimes something goes wrong and you can't complete your listing as planned. If needed, you can choose to end your listing before the scheduled date. If there are bids on your item, you can cancel them.
Reasons for ending listings early include:

* The item is no longer available for sale.
* There was an error in the starting price or reserve amount.
* There was an error in the listing.
* The item was lost or broken.
.
.
.
NOTE: Sellers are not permitted to cancel bids and end listings early in order to avoid selling an item that did not meet the desired sale price. This is considered to be reserve fee circumvention. Although there are legitimate reasons for ending a listing early, abuse of this option will be investigated.

Notice how you can't end an auction because you don't like the price it's getting. That's what I'm referring to. Yeah, if you decide you don't want to sell it, fine with me. If it's significantly before the end of the auction and you have a buyer for it, hey, I don't like it but I can understand it. But just ending it early because it's not getting the price in your head, then why sell it no reserve on eBay of all places?

Oh, and Norton9478, please tone it down a bit. yeah, be pissed, but keep it a bit in check.

I think the seller can end an auction early if there's a good reason. I had an auction where I had to end early cause I mispelled the item for auction which didn't help me any. I reposted it and got way more than I expected.

Yeah it sucked for the guy who probably would've gotten the item cheap cause he just happened to stumble upon it but I felt I had the right to pull it due to that mistake. If I had not mispelled it and posted it up and only got like $0.01 I think I would've let it ride because I didn't get a reserve price on it but that's just me.

I think its totally up to the seller what they can and can't do. That's just ebay for you. If they decide to end it early, that's their decision.

I pulled the aution for two reasons.

1. The mega man game was broken with I found out after I listed it.

2. Some guy that lives 15min away form me offered me a lot of money to sell him the stuff.

If this kind of stuff pisses you off so much don't use it. Bitch like a woman. Also don't email crap like "Cancel My Bid???? Lick my nuts". What the hell are you in high school or just fucking stupid.
