Samurai Shodown 5 English Question

I noticed that about a month ago preorders for Samurai Shodown 5 were up and the $335 is for the English version of the game. My problem is that I hear that the MVS version has no English option. I was going to preorder the game but I am not sure that I will want to buy an English version of a game that has no English. So far all I know is that there is only Japanese text in the game and no English text. I don't think that this will wash too well with those who are ordering the English version. I hope that the game will be translated into English text because that is a big part of the game - the storyline and character endings. Without that, it really wouldn't be much of a Samurai game. I hope that Playmore will fix this issue before the game is released. Thanks for your time.

Whatever if people order the Japanese or English version, the game is the same.
The console is what sets the language of the game.

Not in this case. There is no true English option for this game. If you play it on an English console, the game will have no language at all. There is only a Japanese option. So if you order the English version of the game, the only language option at this time is Japanese only. So even if you put it inot a Japanese system and try to switch it to English mode you will get nothing. The English mode does not really exist with this game on MVS format and I hope that this is fixed in the release for the English release.

There isn't much point in calling it an English release if there isn't an English option to go along with it. The English mode (if you can call it that) has no storyline at all. I hope that this is not something that will happen with future Playmore games. I think that this is a step in the wrong direction and I hope that it is fixed soon. Thanks for your time.

Yes even in this case....lack of dialogue and endings is the English option.

It sucks but it is still the English version.

By the way....why is this in suggestions? Are you suggestion WE the people of N-G.com translate it ourselves?

Maybe we can "correct" the flawed game....wait...I didnt see an "F" anywhere in N-G.com

I don't consider the current English version is a real English version. You could say that it is the English version but there is no English text. I consider it the hacked version. I am putting this in suggestions because i want Shawn to tell Playmore that we are not happy with the release the way it is right now and that we won't buy it unless it has an English translation. I am not going to buy the game because of this and I don't think that you should either. I think that this is a very low blow to the English speaking market and i won't buy another Playmore game in the future if this is not fixed. So basically on me alone Playmore will lose a good chunk of sales. We are the English market so they should try and make us happy. That's all I have to say for now.

Heh... Sounds stupid to me.
There may be little English text in the game, but it's still an OFFICIAL ENGLISH version, regardless of the fact the game has been butchered in the process.

As for me, I'll still buy the game despite that.

Change all the 'we's in your post to 'I's.

Uh....yea it's the hacked version.

QUICK SOMEONE REPORT SNKP TO SNKP!

Dude face it, they are releasing it as the English version so that makes it THE OFFICIAL FUCKING VERSION!

Get over it, you are an annoying pissant and it's not the "cute 3 year old trying to get attention" annoying it's the "I'm 23, live in moms basement and I watch Degrassi Jr. High all day" kind of annoying.....it is so annoying that it is almost creepy.

I hope no young females ever come up missing in your neighborhood, they will know where to find them.

There is no official English version of this game in my book. No translation means no English version. Playmore can call it official all they want but it is still a hack job. I don't care if they "say" it is the "official" English version. You should try and understand that Playmore is not your friend but the enemy of the English speaking Neo Geo fans. Stop praising them like they are some kind of God because they are a very flawed company.

You should get your facts straight before talking. Little has been translated, but some stuff has still been translated. Such as win quotes.
Even if nothing had been translated, you're not the one deciding whether it's an English version or not, Playmore is.

You should try and understand that Playmore is not your friend but the enemy of the English speaking Neo Geo fans
Right.
Don't buy shit from them then and leave it at that.

Stop praising them like they are some kind of God because they are a very flawed company.
I saw no one praising them like they're a God, plus which company is flawless ?

Considering how much you seem to dislike Playmore (company plagued with flaws, enemy of English speaking people), I don't know why you're even trying to get that petition thing working... Apart from getting attention and stuff.
Just go and play games from "less flawed" companies.

I suppose so. I will play the games of a less flawed company and that is SNK. I have not been happy with one thing that Playmore has done. I don't even know why I bother to buy their games. I completely hate them and I always will. They can't do anything right in my book. I seriously doubt I will buy anymore of their games.

Well, this is where opinions are irrelevant. Regardless of how you feel about how SNK-P is handling the English release, the owner of the Intellectual Property, be default, is the final say as to what is official. The SSV release will have an English Insert and an English manual and is being released as the North American version. I might mention that this is much more than almost all of the NGF English Releases (snicker) of Japanese only product.

You may have a twig in your ass about the SSV English release, which I completely understand ( I think it is lame and half assed effort as well ), but that is not a part of the discussion as to whether or not something is official.

I know that Playmore has the legal rights to the game but I don't feel that they are representing the US market in a fair light. I don't like the fact that the Japanese version of the game is much better than the so called English version with lots of the storyline cut out. The reason why I started my petition in the first place was to show Playmore that the English speaking fans were not happy at all about what is going on. I was really looking forward to Samurai Shodown 5 (for some time now) and i don't like the fact that the English version has been messed up. I think that this is a low blow and someone should tell Playmore that we are not happy with this recent turn of events. I won't buy anymore half assed games from Playmore. I will buy a game from Playmore if it is properly translated. Since Samurai Shodown 5 is not translated, I don't want it. That's how I feel on this issue.

Ok well that's why you are the only person reading your book.

Whil you bitch whine and moan we will all be playing our ENGLISH VERSION of SSV despite it having no dialogue.

Get over it, you are nobody and there is nothing you can do but either play the game or not and to be honest I don't give a shit either way just shut the fuck up.
