I have these crappy vertical mounted switch push buttons on my joystick and I want to switch over to horizontal.

Can I use the same microswitches for the horizontals or do I have to get all new cherry swiches?

I ask this because the current microswitches have wires soldered on there, and I don't feel like unsoldering them and then resoldering them on to other switches.

My skills are not that good when it comes to this sort of thing.

I'm positive they're the same. Even the part number is the same (check on their site).

Cherry switches can be used in both positions. Just take the switch off the old button, install the new button and put the switch in place. Shouldn't be a problem.
