Hmm, I thought you only needed to modify the 64's cart slot so the cart fits in - I've done that and all I get is a black screen, I take it this shitty PAL system needs to be replaced with an NTSC unit?

is there anything I missed in the modification?

correct

Hi, yes you need to get an NTSC unit. The console with the slot change you might be thinking of is the megadrive;)

Nah, the mod you can do on a 64 also, by removing the platic template inside.

US game:

Pal game:

but obviously, just between NSTC 64's :(

Hi Kernow yes thats right but unfortunately the shitty PAL system does not do it. I dont know why we have to continue and put up with PAL as the UK standard ?

oh for christs sake,

Not only does the PAL 64 output PAL, obviously, but it doesn't support true RGB either (the NTSC can with a mod..),

way to go big N.. sigh

its not Nintendo's fault, blame the electronic standards, every company has to fight like mad just to tip-toe around NTSC and PAL

If I read your question right you want to play USA carts on a UK machine. To do this you need a converter, into this you put a USA game at the front slot and a UK game at the back slot.

I didn't think the hardware mod worked as the carts have a region/security code. The adaptor is for the N64 not the SNES, I have It myself and It works fine, the only point worth remembering is that certain UK games dont work with some USA carts so you have to try different combinations to make them work.

OK, we are stuck with the PAL system because it is BETTER (slightly higher resolution, better colour reproductionand now we have PAL-60 it has the same refresh rate!) (hence NTSC-TV nickname os "never the same colour twice vision" the gamecube DOES output RGB but you HAVE to use the NINTENDO RGB cable (they still screwed us over but it CAN be done) and the picture quality is great!

:-)

i didn't koow that MOD worked with the N64 though i thought it was just for the Megadrive
