MVS controller problems, with certain games

I'm having a rather interesting problem with some mvs carts i recently recieved.
AOF2, fatal fury 2, and fatal fury special are all giving me wierd controller problems on my one slot MVS Cabinet.

AOF2 - unable to move controller to any character but RYO in character selection on first player side. not sure if thats part of the story or not.
Fatal Fury 2 and FF special - at the character selection screen when i push left or right the selector moves at such a fast rate that it's near impossible to select a character. THen durring actual gameplay all of the buttons seem to be set on "TURBO" mode and continue firing as long as they are held down.

All of these problems are only on the left player side (1st player) and i experience problems only with these games. other carts (SS,SS2,KOF94, fatal fury, ROTD) work fine with no similar problems.

is it my hardware or corrupted carts??

Fatal Fury Special will not let me select characters on the 1st player side either

Are all the dipswitches on the MVS board in the off position?
