FS: US anime LD's; Wanted anime new/used (updated 09/12)

Official stuff only! (unless noted) Don't care if some of the VHS stuff is already on DVD (Gunbuster) I know what I want and that's that.

  • Castle of Cagliostro (sub VHS or DVD)
  • Fist of the North Star (eng LD)
  • *****Fight! Iczer-One The Complete (subtitled; wanted BADLY!)*****
  • Nadia, The Secret of Blue Water (sub ADV VHS full series only)
  • *Oh My Goddess! (AnimEigo LD #2; will purchase the set if I must)*
  • X (sub VHS or DVD)

Might be interested in other titles yet these I want most. E-mail me for quickest response with offers of what you have. Would probably also accept any of the above as trade-ins or (situationally dependent) equal swaps if there's anything on my site that interests you.

******************************************
Part 2.

I have the following US anime LD's for sale. Orgun vol. 2 and one copy of Earth Chapter 2 are sealed; all the rest are used. Prices coming soon or make me an offer.

Armitage III vol. 2 (Japanese & English audio)
Bakuen Campus Guardless Vol. 1 (Japanese w/obi)
Detonator Orgun vol. 1 & 2 (of 3; subtitled)
Gall Force 2: Destruction (subtitled)
Gall Force 3: Stardust War (subtitled)
Gall Force Earth Chapter 1 (subtitled)
Gall Force Earth Chapter 2 (subtitled; 2 copies)
Gall Force Earth Chapter 3 (Japanese w/out obi)
Gall Force New Era 2 (subtitled; a few spots but it still plays)

Thanks for reading!

Maison Ikkoku went up to Ep. 48 on VHS AFAIK and if you try to buy the VHS and find them all, it'll be pretty expensive. The DVD release for the first and the second box set have come and each mini-box has 12 episodes for 49.99 MSRP. Which means for around $35 at DeepDiscountDVD or whatever merchant dvdpricesearch.com gives you cheapest it's one helluva value.

Really? That's all? I thought Viz finally tore themselves away from their manga releases long enough to release the full series on VHS. I would not be surprised though were that the case. Viz really ought to be banned from licensing anime as with all their manga publishing they never give any of their anime series anywhere near the attention they deserve.

qube: e-mail coming your way.

Yeah Viz didn't get too far for releasing Maison Ikkoku on VHS. I personally have the first two box sets. My only problem I had with Maison Ikkoku Viz Release is the second box set. It doesn't have the special opening for ep. 24 which had the Gilbert O'sullivan opening which was unique only to ep. 24.

They didn't even include it as an extra or anything. I thought this was upsetting.

OH well i still have my fansubs...

Which in this one particular case I might just purchase. Thanks for the extra info too.

Death to Viz.

I'm watching Maison Ikkoku at the moment(for the 3rd time)-it's the best anime ever:D

I have the MI version, its 10 discs in 2 sets of 5 discs, 10 episodes a disc for discs 1 to 8 and the last two are 8 episodes each.
This is the best of the HK versions, the video quality is pretty good(its a tv-rip though), and the fansub rocks:buttrock: There are very few missing lines, and no Engrish IIRC. I can't see Viz even getting close to this quality of subs after watching R1 Ranma:(

oh yeah, stay away from the 8 disc version, there's missing lines all over the shop!

My my, thanks! Suppose if I had the choice I might have even gone for the 8-disc set to save on shipping.

Although, Kimagure Orange Road is clearly the best anime ever. :annoyed:

Neo bomberman,

I love KOR too... AYUKAWAAAAA!!!!

The animeigo set is quite nice. they are taking preorders for the OVAs and the movie set at around 60 bucks. This is my other fav anime next to maison.... but they both are #1's in my book. Hell I mean where do you think my nick comes from? hehehe....

I also really like KOR, but I guess the reason it's below Maison Ikkoku in my book is that I watched all 48 episodes in TV series and there wasn't any feel of closure, it just ended suddenly:(
I guess I should watch the OVAs, but the end just felt a bit weird!!

Well, watch the OVA series + first movie. It will VERY MUCH close out the series in highly dramatic fashion. :)

Although to be honest, the OAV series doesn't advance the story at all. Yet it does provide a very nice lead-up to the film which is stellar, and which is full of relevance.

Hm, don't know how I missed this before. I bought the OAV series on VHS back in 1996 actually and don't really see myself moving beyond that. Old stuff on old formats you know :) Although I was about the last person to purchase the TV LD set brand new for $325 last year. Was quite an expensive birthday present with the exchange rates of the time, but hey, last year I was on top of the world and I really think it's the best money I ever spent.

Sounds about time to have my "business partner" in HK do some shopping for me, and yes that's sort of a shameless plug if you wish to avoid eBay. :D

@Shito: Missed your message as well somehow. Anyhow, I'm actually going after Nadia: Secret of Blue Water next, and I still have the final Box of VOTOMS to purchase. Those plus BOTH KOR CD boxes (why settle for one eh?) = $$$$$$$$. And perhaps one day as I kept saying to you, Mimi o sumaseba.

Anyhow, double-bump for this morning.

The OAV and Movie 1 set are dvds from animeigo. Preorder is 60 bucks. THis is the legit one not a bootleg.

I think KOR TV doesn't end quite as good as Maison althought maison movie was kinda horrid and was totally not necessary. KOR movie at least brings the series to a closure albeit a bittersweet ending.

I know AnimEigo is releasing the set on DVD. I already have their videos of it though, with a nice and very wide spinesleeve design, plus I simply loathe collecting DVD's, thus the videos will do me.

Interesting note about the MI film. But I'll probably watch it anyhow.

Oh and yes everyone, I am still looking for those titles in post #1. Someone PLEASE sell me Iczer One subtitled.
