That's the terminology used in videogames...

I don't like it... To me a bootleg is copy that was never commercialy available.....

Games that are unauthorized copies of commerical games are pirates or conterfit...

The word Bootlegg implies grey area....... There is no grey area when it comes to a conterfiet pirated game.

Maybe it's just because I used to do alot of collecting music and stuff..... I would kill someone if they refered to my bootlegg collection as pirate coppies.

There are lots of games that fit that description, though - stuff like those hacker versions of SF2 for the Famicom, or CDRs of unreleased games (Thrill Kill etc.).

So, the definition's still pretty vague.

My question is...

...now that I accidentally bought a bootleg from someone here, how do I get rid of it? If I resell it, I'm engaging in piracy, and if I keep it, I feel I got screwed.

You could easily pass it along my way :D

Other than giving it away I would say keep it if you want and others will say destroy the thing but I am against destorying any carts regardless of if they are legit or not.

Most any new Neo owner would be happy to take it off your hands as a means of trying the game out.

I have 2 boots that I didn't know beforehand but I did buy them afterwards (Metal Slug and Kizuna)
