In the December issue of GMR magazine, they re-reviewed Card Fighters Clash in their Retroactive section. Essentially they praise the game up and down, and unlike most of the games that appear in Retroactive, it keeps the same score from "Then" to "Now": 9/10.

Very cool to see this re-reviewed. Brings back a lot of great memories for me.

I remember picking up the Neo Geo Pocket Color on a whim back in 1999. I hadn't had a handheld system since the original game boy and around this time Pokemon was huge, and I hated it. So the choice: GBC or NGPC? Obvious. ;) When I got card fighteres clash (capcom ver., still never played the snk ver) I probably logged about 24 hours of gameplay in the first week alone. Then many more in the bathroom, but thats another story.

Words cannot sum up how great of a handheld the NGPC actually was, despite it's humble game catalog. My only gripe about the system was lack of buttons, hitting the start button to toss grenades in the Metal Slug games was about as tedious as it got.

i saw the mag.
nice to see it actually get a review,
it would be nice if SNK localized cfc2 and brought
it over to the gba. it would be a shame for it
to be as obscure as it is. half the people here use
art from the game as their ava and dont even know it.

I would say if they made card fighters clash 3 for the GBA that it could be hugely successful. These types of games are big right now, you combine that with mega man (also doing well right now) somewhere on the cover and you have a hit.

Here's to hoping card fighters clash will return sometime in the not-so-distant future.

good point.
i always wondered what happened to any hopes of
some people organizing a way to play cfc online.
which would be great. just great.
but what would be super is SNK v cap actual trading cards
or an actual game like that yu gui oh shit. i mean hell. i d buy a box of those, at the very least.
