Arcade of course. Running on Chihiro hardware, it's basically an XBOX in an arcade cab.

I think they were planning releasing it on XBOX, but sega said fuck it. Due to the fact XBOX is crap in Japan, and Sega's sales of XBOX games in the states aren't exactly stellar.

thye ported f-zero pretty good

they just have to base it on a certain arcade system... and bring it out for that system.

Looks like Need for Speed. This is not Outrun... Outrun is my favorite arcade game ever, this "thing" is not the spirit of outrun... it looks so... SIM like. No thanks... Sure, I will play it, but I am far from excited about it,

I thought that Sega not bringing Outrun 2 out on the XBox was just a rumor. Has there been an actual official statement to this effect? Despite the bad performance of the Box in Japan, I find it really hard to believe they wouldn't release this in the US, especially seeing as it's a Chihiro-based game.

This is the new version of Splash Lake, i really dont like it, could be much better IMO, maybe the longer full version will improve :help:

Splash Wave! And Yes, it is an inferior port of the original :loco:

But, not terrible... it feels outrunish.

You know, I don't think anything short of a cartoony version would have made me happy. Something hand drawn and nice looking. I am tired of hyper realistic looking driving games... and Outrun is classic ground here. I would have liked a more faitful rendention for a sequel, but in the end... the map screen is nice, the music is decent... I just can't get over the Need for Speed type visuals... I mean screen shot one looks like it was direct ripped from NFS... most of the other too. This is outrun? No... this is a name slapped on a new racing sim...

Of course I am willing to eat my words, if it is great I will play it into the ground!

If this is arcade only then there is next to no chance I'll play it. All the arcades in america and out on LongIsland suck. If any place gets it'll be over a dollar to play. Same with Virtrua Cop 3, saw it on TechTv, wont see it here.

Any word on if they re-did Magical Song Shower in the new outrun? That song's on Samba de Amigo. Great stuff.

Of course it was. F-Zero runs on Triforce, which is enhanced GameCube hardware. (Like Chihiro to Xbox) So porting the game from the arcade to home was easy. That's the exact reason everyone is upset about SEGA's choice to not bring Outrun 2 to XBox.

Thats because it was on the Triforce, based on the Gamecube hardware, not xbox: http://www.system16.com/sega/hrdw_triforce.html#fzax
