I've been reading all the reviews, and they really seem to hinge on two key subjective aspects: (1) the reviews opinion on violence (even kitch violence) and (2) the reviewers appreciation for a knock-off/ode to chop-sokey flicks.

I thought Kevin Smith's was interest, here it is (and no, he doesn't close with "Please, I know gigli sucked but please still watch Jersey Girl!"

Kill Bill is fucking FANTASTIC

Went to the premiere last night, totally clean: never read the script, stayed away from reviews, listened to no spoilers.

My God, I love that movie. It is, without a doubt, the best flick I've seen all year - maybe the best flick I've seen in five years. It made me so insanely happy. When the credits rolled, I felt proud in a weird way, just because I make movies at the same company Quentin does.

It was the perfect marriage of "movie" and "film": extremely
entertaining, engrossing and satisfying, and also moving, inspiring and heart-wrenching. It's a masterpiece. It's "Pulp" good. Shit, it's better than "Pulp" good.

From the opening quote on the screen (cheekily credited to the least expected source), to the closing line (the best piece of cliff-hanging dialogue since "Empire Strikes Back"), "Kill Bill" delivers in ways few movies ever do.

The whole cast is wonderful (with Uma Thurman and Lucy Lieu being the stand-outs). "The House of Blue Leaves" segment is brilliant. The anime' sequence is so great, it may finally introduce
manga/anime into the mainstream. It's shot beautifully. The music
choices are flawless. The sound is rich and daring. It's just flat-out phenomenal.

I've always loved the guy's work, but this flick is proof positive that Quentin's a mad genius. I'm gushing like a fan-boy, I know; but I can't help myself. It's the kinda flick that makes me remember why I got into filmmaking in the first place. I'm going to see it a few times in theaters when it's released - something I haven't done in ages.

I wish everyone here had seen it already so we can post back and forth about it.

Shit, it was great. Great, great, great. God bless Quentin and Miramax for making this flick.

Never saw J&SB strike back, course only Kevin Smith movie I saw and liked where Clercks and Mallrats( since I'm a comic geek ) but Chasing Amy affended me in every way and Dogma was ok( I still say this movie could have been better without Ben's bitch ass  )

Man, you must have no sense of humor.

[as a point of reference, I though Clerks was funny (but not some kind of second coming like others), Mallrats was just 'okay', Chasing Amy was frickin' brilliant and fun (though not oscar worthy or anything), I though Dogma was problematic and only sporatically funny (and, technically speaking, badly directed), and I loved J&SBSB as a hillarious irreverant comedy -top notch for what it was]

BOBAK, my personality is a cross between Golgo 13's stoic man who never smiles, everything's a mission objective in life that must be completed (even fuckin' is a mission objective)... and Chris Tucker when I'm in my silly moods. There is no inbetween... though when I'm silly, I'm DAFFY!

I'd have to list it like this for Kevin Smith Films:

#1> CLERKS
#2> DOGMA
#3> Mall Rats
#4> Chasing Amy
#5> J&SB Strike Back.

--- I just couldn't find much about that film funny at all. *Except for the part about the CLIT COMMANDER. ---Now that was comedy gold!
