I've gotta 4-slot that I want use as inconjunction with a SuperGun on my TV but I haven't any Pads/Joysticks yet.
I've got a pair of Dreamcast arcade joysticks and a Play station joystick but there not exactly 'arcade' but what I do have is one of the X-Arcade twin Joysticks that I use with my PC MAME.. to try before I buy the real thing ;-) Its as decent as you could expect for a Supergun set up but can this be used with my 4-slot? has anyone done this or know a how to do this?
Any help would be great
Thanks in advance

I heard the X-Arcade sticks sucks BALLS.

I own one and it does not suck balls

The package itself is nice.

I use it to play DC games and later on I'll buy the PS2 adapter and use it for the PS2.

Adaptability is the key to this joystick.

The thing that does suck balls is the stick itself, which I replaced with a nice Happs Competition joystick(courtesy of the real bob roberts).

So if you replace the original stick (simple and inexpensive to do), its a nice joystick, don't believe the negativity.

If you don't want to do the mods, you could use a few controller adapters together.

Unfortunately, there is no Neo Geo adapter for the Xarcade, but you could get a PSX kit for it (if you don't already have one) and then get a PSX-Neo Geo controller adapter, and as long as your motherboard has the NGH joystick ports, it should work.

I can't say I'm happy with the button layout for the PSX-Neo adapter though. If you just do a cable mod on it you can map it however you want.

Anyway , the mod really isn't that hard... and if you have any knowledge of basic arcade button wiring that I should be fine

Actually, it is also pretty easy to rewire the PSX->Neo adaptor to make its button lay-out match your preferences. Or make a rewire in the stick itself to change its own button lay-out.

Oh really? Tell me more...

I actually just ordered one of the adapters. I'd like to remap the buttons so that L1 is A, Square is B, Triangle is C and R2 is D... that would give my stick a classic neo layout.

I was trying to look for the PM I got from one of the members, but anyway, it is a set sequence:

Triangle, Circle, Square, and X = A,B,C and D

I have no idea which is to what.

edit: Please post here if you are sucessful in getting an X-Arcade to work with a Neo Geo through the 2 adapters:

One from the X-Arcade to PS2 adapter, then from the PS2 to Neo Geo adapter.
