As you may have saw by my other post I got a T-16 for 5 bucks. I have had a Turbo Express with some games. But I'd like to get more. Here are a list of what I like that I do own.

Lendendary Ax
Air Zonk
Bonk's Revenge
Chase HQ
Parasol Stars
Devil's Crush (I think I lost it)

There's a few that I have played that I need to find like Blazing Lazers.

What other games are good to get for the T-16. And do you need a converter to play Japanese Games on it? I know they made Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition and I was wondering if it was importable.

Also what does a TurboTap and the Turbo Booster do? All I know is that you can supposuddly save a game on Parasol Stars.

The Turbotap is a little plug in that allows you to hook up about 4 controllers, IIRC. The TurboBooster plugs into the back of your unit and allows you to connect your system to the TV by a/v cables. The Turbo Booster Plus allows you to save games :)

As for SF2, its definitely a good conversion. Converters for the tg16 are costly. I've sold at tzd.com for $100 a pop and clear even THAT on eBay. Its actually much cheaper to get an actual PC Engine unit.

As for the games, I lean mostly towards the imports: SF2: CE, Outun, Download II, Dracula X, Sylphia, Star Parodier. Some other great ones are Ys Books I + II, Bonk 1 + 2, Super Star Soldier, Gunhed/Blazing Lazers, Winds/Lords of Thunder, Gates of Thunder.

Ive had my Turbo since 1993. Got it for Xmas. :) Unfortunately there where no stores within driving distance that carried the system or games. So my library has been pretty small. Though ive started buying a couple games a year the last couple years. Never to late :)

My fav TG16 games are... Bonks Revenge, Dungeon Explorer, and Legendary Axe.

I love threads like this. I just bought Side Arms on eBay for $6.50 a couple minutes ago. Next I think ill try to get R-Type, Bonk 3, or Air Zonk. :buttrock:

Is Parasol Stars that rare of a game? I saw it on ebay going upwards to 30 dollars. I got the game for 10 at Toys R Us when they were getting right of there T-16 stuff.

My friend was telling me the thrift store by his house had a couple of t16 games a few months ago. I might check it out to see if I can find any.

I have an extra copy of Pac-Land now. Maybe I'll sell it on ebay. I think I could get at least 10 bucks.

Wow, a Turbo best games thread....

Too many great games too list, but :

  • Bonk's Revenge
  • Parasol Stars
  • Ninja Spirit
  • Y's I & II
  • Neutopia
  • Neutopia II
  • R-Type
  • Alien Crush (I like this better than Devil's Crush)
  • Madden Football (actually a very good version)
  • Bomberman '93
  • Beyond Shadowgate
  • Dead Moon - underrated shooter

I could list more, but that's enough I think....

As for playing imports on a US TG or Duo, you could always get a modded system to do the job....

The orange kisado is hands down the best converter to have, but like jaydubnb said, it's cheaper to get a PC-E.
Somebody on here was doing mods on the TG-16's though. I don't know what that costs.
There were a ton more games released in Japan than what they released over here. I'd definitely recommend getting yourself set up to play PC-E games.

Definitely. The new one, called the Mirai (red), is dicey with the Arcade Card Duo (told to me by TZD themselves) and is kinda hack, not even using a real HuCard slot. The Diving Board and Purple Barney converters work but are not very compatible with all games. Basically, a converter is not the best option since if you happen to bump it/the console, there's a high probability that the contacts will cross and freeze your system. But the Kisado is still the best. And good luck finding one for less than about $125 these days.

About 140 released in the US and about 1000 (!!) in Japan including classics like Strip Fighter II, Toilet Kids, and Photograph Boy!

My picks would be...

Out Run - an example of the PCE dumping on the Genny from a great height

Aero Blasters - ditto, and a great shooter to boot

Galaga '88 - Pure, simple and addictive as hell

Puzznic - A sadly forgotten (by most) puzzle classic

R-Type - best conversion of this classic game (up to PS R-Types anyways)

Dracula X - Kinda over-rated but still huge fun for old-school CV fans

And yep, Ninja Spirit - now this game was HARD

Sadly I sold my PCEngine setup a while back. :crying:

I don't really have a fav list for say, but several years ago when I had my US Duo, Splash Lake was easily one of my favs. I could play that damn game for hours on end.
