Today I had a friend at work bring in his Game Gear with Mastersystem converter and it brought back alot of memories. I'd say that my favorite games on the system are Alex Kidd: In Miracle World, Wonderboy: In Monster Land, My hero, and Double Dragon. I was just wondering what everyone else liked about this great system since I've seen many a post about purchasing games at variouse places.

Wanted was a damn fine gun game. Too bad it was released so late in the SMS's life.

Memorable moment in the game....when you die and the continue screen shows you in a coffin! When you select yes, you suddenly revive and your character's eyes "open" and look around!

Wonderboy III: Dragon's Trap (Introduction stage music :buttrock: )
Time Soldiers
Phantasy Star
Golden Axe Warrior (I wonder if Sega got sued by Nintendo for this)
R-Type (I have to admit, the TG-16 version is superior)
Shinobi (I dont' know if I still have the skill, but I used to make 5 flawless 15 minute speed runs a day at this game.)
Maze Hunter 3-D
Rastan
both Zillions
Golvellius
Rambo III (would've been tight if it was 2 player)
Cyborg Hunter
Wanted (whoever mentioned the Game Over screen was right totally. One of the most disturbing game over screens I've seen)

I agree with most of your selections save for Shinobi and Golvellius.

Shinobi disappointed me since it didn't really mimic the arcade version correctly (ie: weapon upgrades were different, gameplay was slower and more methodical, etc). Fun, yes, but not what I expected similar to the way Alien Syndrome was so drastically different when compared to the arcade game that it was based on.

Golvellius was an awesome concept (an RPG with overhead and side-view sequences!), but just too damn hard! For the longest time, this game had me stumped with its non-sensical puzzles and obscure hints. Did anyone manage to beat this WITHOUT any outside help???

Reason No. 4,321 why I need my Turbografx 16 modded or get a good deal on a PC Engine Duo. Asmik's PC Engine version of Shinobi stomps the SMS version in the ground anyday.
