Just thought that I should share this. Many people suffer from depression sometimes its brief sometimes its literally hell on earth. Society I believe brings most of these problems wheter its human nature to feel depressed is still debateble. It is a problem and should be taken seriously.

Maybe you have suffered through it and would like to talk about it or mention it here, I'll listen. I recently went to a brief depression period myself so I understand. Or if you know someone who has killed himself and would like to share it's cool.

Case in point of the recently releaed video of those columbine teens who shot up the school. There depression led them to take a drastic measure to aleve it. In their mind they where trapped and lost and only wanted a way out. A way to be accepted amongst their school.

In their case bullying was a major factor. Is it because society views it as normal for a bully to exist. How little do teachers care when they see a student get punched on or beaten. I have seen it, and it is very sad. It's incredible how cruel we can let ourselves become to either feel better about our own selves or just to get a laugh "from the cool kids".

No offense V.K. but Blueberryprincess and I have both been more than a little concerned for you as of late between here and XL-R8 forums, with some of your posts. One minute you're fine, the next your asking ppl what they'd do if you told them you were coming to kill them??? *Seriously man, are you alright? To be honest I suffer from some of that shit, but that's Bipolar Disorder for you... (got a mild case of it, but I'm on meds... mostly over active brain) Just hope you're okay man.

I can check "yes" on about 90% of those questions, and I am well aware I suffer bouts of depressions with alarming frequency.

It's good to spread the word about depression. I got in some shit with Depression when I hit started to hit puberty (11-12). Had a flirt with suicide, got some help I needed. The problem with it is, that when you are depressed, and getting help. You feel you are worse off then when you weren't getting help from people. But that shit passes once you get out of it, and you realize how dumb it was to think that.

I can say yes to about 98% of those.

Been this way for a year or two now and counting. Have been planning suicides quite a few times (was on a brink once a month ago).

Nope, I avoid meds at all costs (be it a flew or a wound or whatever), I say let the body do its stuff. Don't know how to get rid of this situation but heres hoping time will do its magic.

Time is part of the magic, but I really think that meds will make the time a little better :). That and talking to a good friend helps make the travel a little easier.

And V.K, i'm sorry to hear about your situation :( I'm sure everyone here will be happy to listen.

The cure for depression doesn't lie within faceless internet pals.

Go outside.

hey, whaddya know, that describes me too.:oh_no:

I tend to follow the same ideal as Diavle though in regards to medicine. At the moment, it seems like the pharmecutical companies find a new "disorder," and also a pill to cure it every other month, so I find it hard to trust them. besides, I don't think we know enough about the brain to really make effective drugs. Secondly, I think a lot of it has to do with problems conforming to society's demands. but, I digress. I've been like this to some degree since HS, with plenty of ups and downs. this year things have become worse than ever, but I still think the solution lies in identifying the source of one's depression and eliminating it rather than some miracle drug. I mean, other than being sanctioned by the government, how's that really any different from someone using illegal drugs to escape from life??

There is nothing wrong with being depressed.

I know people who have been taking medication for years, but to no success in curing depression.

Face it, it is a fact of life, we are all going to get depressed sometime or other.

If I wasn't scared of dying, I probably would have ended my life long ago.

People say you need to find something constructive to do in your free time.

I spend my free time writing, playing videogames, and talking about videogames on these forums.

Eh, I'm about 95+% of those things, and even though I might
be "depressed" technically, I'm totally fine.... all just a bunch of new age hooey to me.

You didn't say what to do out there. I have a shitload of 'real' friends but I still can't find reasons to exist.
