I'm not a huge fan of retro styling, but I think this is pretty hot.

Personally I was never really that impressed with that car whan Ford originally produced them.
For that price I could buy quite a few more interesting cars.

ford's hailing it as the return of the ferrari slayer. :buttrock:
my dad used to work with a guy that had a mkII gt-40, basically the closest thing you could get to the comp spec car. the mkIII and mkIV were bigger and clumsier, but cool nonetheless. if i had the dough, it would so be mine. working for an NPO, it'll never happen.:crying:

Why Taking this over a Lamborghini gallardo?

the styling of the gallardo is a little too over the top for me, and lambos are known to be fragile. the drivetrain in the ford gt has already been proven, it's basically the same motor as used in the lightning pickup. the trans is basically the same as found in the svt cobra, a tremec 6 speed. maintenance on a lambo is also astronomical, while the gt is a car that any competent home mechanic can work on themselves, it's drivetrain is comprised of parts that are familiar to the average mechanic. but, if you're buying the car for status, the gt is still "just a ford".

Man that thing is SHARP! It is really styled well, and the engine... oooh the engine.

But what the hell is going on with the Mustang. The front end is gorgeous and then it turns in to an ugly piece of shit. But again the engine... ooh the engine :drool_2:

Love the GT40's. Ford wanted to buy Ferrari in the 60's, they woudn't sell so He built the GT40 and beat them at LeMans for a couple of years.

I like my Fastback until I could afford a GT40
