Andrew: Wow. The score is tied. It's so exhilarating.
It's got to be fake. What 12 year old kid uses the word exhilarating?

Kids today are snotty, backchatting little bastards. But it's OK, one day they'll be dead.

Tim: Mario dies way too easy. Oh, grab the umbrella. Those are cool. Unfashionable, gay, but cool. Oh, 300 points. That's it? All you get is points? That's lame. Can't you do something with the umbrella?

hahaha

That's great. I love that kid.

EGM: Who's that chick Mario is rescuing up there?

Brian: It's Princess Peach.

Kirk: It's a hooker.

Niko: She looks cut in half.

Tim: Oh wow—she's one of those pole dancers.

When I read this in EGM, I was surprised by what these kids had to say because I remember being that age (ALL 6 YEARS AGO!) and I really don't remember acting like that.

this amuses me actually. Now if we were put in a room with the games they play we'd probably say the same insults

i'm glad the onbe kid who kept cussing and smarting off isn't my kid *removes belt*

you really can't blame them, they are used to the next gen games and can't enjoy the simple pleasures of games of old. sit one of those little bastards down in front of an old text game.......

Its rather pathetic actualy. I had my nephew (who is 8) over the other day and he wanted to play a game. Being as most of my games are RPG's, Fighters, or a bit to "hard" as he says...theres really not much he could play so I poped on my x-box to look through some ramdom emu crap I never touch...Donkey Kong Country 3 was on there so I let him play that. The entire time he was comapring it Donkey Kong 64 saying how bad the game was and how there isnt much you can do. Couple this will about a million questions about whats going on (the child has no clear deduction device installed in his brain) and I wanted to kill him by the end of 20 minuites. Suffice to say it was GAME OVER so I got rid of him and gave him back to his mom. I wont even go into the time I had him play Castlevania 3...good Lord was that a mistake. I still get comments about that game that "uses blocks for people".

Now stuff like this IMO finally puts something worthwhile in EGM.

They should put Ps2/GCN/XBox n00bs with old skool games every month just to see how far they go with it.

TETRIS -

Tim: Which button do I press to make the blocks explode?

EGM: Sorry, they don't explode.

Becky: This is boring. Maybe if it had characters and stuff and different levels, it would be OK. If things blew up or something or—

Sheldon: If there were bombs.

Becky: Yeah, or special bricks. Like, if a yellow brick touched a red brick it would blow up and you'd have to start over.

----------

Yeah, Tetris really needs explosions. How about some people and different levels. Sheesh. These kids act like they've never seen a puzzle game before. But they sure do love your basic action game!
