For me it's been Clock Tower 3. I'm not even that far into the game, but it's freakin' me out already, which is really a thrill since I only play it when I stay up late with the lights off. Right now, there's something disturbing about that child killing psychopath with a sledgehammer chasing me everywhere I go.

Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour

right when you first load up the game it pops up this EA[Electronic Arts] logo and has a group of people yell "EA GAMES!" then a kid's voice whispering "challenge everything!".. and i'm like 'sweet mother of god!!!!!'

What?! Another hospital? What is it with Silent Hill and hospitals.

I was really hoping (seriously) that there would be no more hospitals in SH3.

The hospital in SH1 was scary.

The hospital in SH2 was kinda tedious, especially after going through two apartment blocks. That's three buildings with long blank corridors and stairwells.

And now there's another one in 3?

Heh, the "nightmare" brookhaven hospital is even more over-the-top this time round with pulsating flesh walls and blood everywhere and there are also those damn slurpers that would trip me down and sometimes i can't even see them. The hospital feels more "alive" now when compared to the quieter SH2 version which was not as scary.

Hmm... OK, I'll take your word for it.

I'm planning on picking this game up for my PS2 once the price drops on the used versions...

Definitely the Silent Hill series. Not so much for the creatures in it, but because of the atmosphere.

Yesterday was dark, rainy, and just plain downright miserable, so I thought it would be a good day to rent some horror flicks and then play some SH2.

My wife and I got '13 Ghosts' and 'The House on Haunted Hill'. Both coincidentally produced by Robert Zemeckis for Dark Castle.

Neither movie was very scary I thought...

'13 Ghosts' had too much comedic relief, a really convoluted story, and not enough background on the particular ghosts, plus a happy ending... so I was disappointed. My wife on the other hand liked it... she said there were 'lots of mysteries'.

'House on Haunted Hill' had a better premise, and a much better atmosphere, but the ghosts only showed up on a couple of occasions, the whiny humans trapped in the house killed themselves off most of the time. Where were the ghosts while everyone was bickering?! I asked my wife what she thought, and she said 'It was shit'.

Then I played SH2. That was about four times as scary as both movies put together.

Now I'm really looking forward to three.

I used to think Doom was scary back in the day, but nowadays I'd hafto go with the Resident Evil remake on the cube. Anyone play Nightmare Creatures? That game gave me the creeps sometimes.

The level with the mid-boss that shot guided missles at you (sorry forgot the name) in the first Doom was scary as hell.

Before you saw the mid-boss appear, all you'd hear were his huge pounding footsteps...

BOUM BOUM BOUM BOUM

...then you'd turn the corner and he'd be there...

AAAAARRRGGHH!!

When it comes to the NES, usually everybody's answer would be Friday the 13th.

Thought that was scary? Try Sweet Home.
