Create seperate age group forums

I am growingly increasingly tired of immature kids and teenagers posting stupid shit on these forums.

I would really like to have a more mature forum that could be void of all the rediculous rubbish. A mature forum for the mature collectors and gamers who actually have a real collection, and money to purchase the items/games we all treasure.

A neo pocket with sonic the hedgehog is not a neo collector and does not need to discuss topics of items they cannot afford and will never own... I'm sure many of the members in my age group could appreciate a forum of this nature. I also feel age verification should be in order to eliminate the shit from entering this particular forum. I wouldn;t mind if all members could read, but only the age verifed members could post. Any other thoughts on this?

No offense but age does not equal maturity.

Also, collection size shouldn't matter, this site is here for people that love the Neo-Geo. Whether you have every home cart ever or still have to play the Neo in the arcade a quarter at a time, the love is still there.

I agree to a point lithy, but someone that works at 7-11 and drives a dodge neon, and lives at home with their parents has not near the maturity level of an "Adult" living in their own home paying all their own expenses with. Life experience =maturity, so if your 30 and still live with your parents you are absolutely right, you have no idea what maturity is and obviously never will. On the other hand if you are 20 and have a family and are busting your ass to make a living and support your family, you are maturing on a daily basis. These however are the extremes and not the norm. 95% of the member content would be of the mental caliber I like to associate with. There are a few members here that I enjoy chatting with. Even if we don't always see eye to eye I respect their opinion and them as a person as they have intelligence and maturity in their train of thought.

Sorry I went off the hook, but this is something I feel strongly against. From the eyes of a "kid" it gets to the point of being funny, all this age elitism. People either ignore you, or treat you as a child.

Don't know if it means anything, but I hold your opinion in very high regards.

As for the idea, yeah, I can't see it working and besides, your age is set by you in your profile. I can be 96 yrs old or 9 yrs old in 10 seconds. But honestly that 7-11 thing is kinda mean. People that work at small time jobs may be just as about collecting as the computer programer and the lawyer, it just might take them longer to build their collection. Look at chris1, he got that minty lot of games and a console for $100. A 7-11 employee can aford that Im sure. Anyway, maybe a new forum where if you post a flame or any spam you are banned automatically, and thats made clear in the forum discription. Maybe thats what you want. Anyway, thats my suggestion.

Instead of making it age specific, maybe just title a new forum HARDCORE ELITIST COLLECTOR PRICKS DISCUSSION


Then both T_Smallz and that fraud mexican fuck, Kanjifreak, can both post it up.

It's not meant to be mean, only the fact that your level of mental capacity is not challenged as it would be by a techinical hjob. I mean no disrespect to anyone who has a shitty job. I applaud them for having the drive to do it on a daily basis, just using it as an example to differnet levels of maturity at different stages in your life. I guess "age" is the wrong term to use. But it's unlikely a teenager just starting out has the same interests as an older gamer. I mean a teen didn't even grow up with the dawn of the video era. In my opinion that means a lot. It's really great to chat with others that have a fine memory of the classics... That's part of the reason I enjoy the forums, a lot of the members here are cool, mature, intelligent people.

I post more responsibly then half the members on this forum so don't try to say that all teens that post here are immature and stupid, you need to get a reality check. There are plenty of "adult" screw off's that have came and gone on this forum in the past, most of them being scammers. You need to "grow up" and get a life mr. mature.

And as for people only owning a NGPC, why the hell do you care? You sound like some kind of elitist asshole. I've owned a AES and a few carts such as Last Blade 2, Metal Slug 3, Real Bout 2, Samurai Showdown 3 etc. and surprise *I'm 17* but that does not make me any better then the next guy who owns only a NGPC. Heck, he may know a lot more about the Neo-Geo then I do. Owning games and having the money for them doesn't make you any more intelligent.

Althought it seems like a harsh idea to many of our members,
I think this could turn out great.

Something more like a place where people could discuss
Neo•Geo only would be nice, without the roms, boots, and such
distasteful remarks like the ones posted on our forums (Regardless if people are most of the time joking).

People who have a real interest in the Neo and can afford
to buy, play, and discuss with other the same things they like
would be nice, but not possible I guess, since of course many
of them would think of it as a discriminatory way of getting
rid of them.

In the end we can only dream. I agree with you though.

Btw, there's many respectable members and other people out
there who would be in favor of this, they just don't like
to throw their opinions because they will obviously get flamed

It's a simple fact that anyone who's honestly for this seperate forum is an ignorant jackass. Because people don't agree with you, or can't afford the same items as you...these aren't reasons they shouldn't be allowed to discuss things with you.

You'll miss out on a lot of viewpoints.

But I'm pretty sure you guys aren't interested in the viewpoints of others anyways...which is pretty sad.

Seriously, what makes you more special than somebody else who games their Neo in the arcades? Really. This has to be one of the worst ideas I've seen in this forum, joking or not. You're better off making a private board with the 20 people who would actually be up for this. The other 7,000 can stay here and deal with the regular bullshit that comes with everyday life, and message boards are no different.

Why dont you guys just go start youre own forum and run it how you would like , then you could weed anyone out you feel needs it. So long as there are more than 5 or 6 people posting on any forum there will always be assholes and immature people.

Of course ones opinion of just what being an asshole or an immature teen/person is tends to varey alot. In reality what you are asking for with the age/maturity thing would never work ,since people would do it just to undermine why the rule was there to begin with.

In general I think some people get too carried away with all the negative bullshit and hatred for other peoples thoughts,feelings and opinions on things like emulation and dick size ..I meen collection size. I feel in the end all people like this bring to any forum is pure negativity which basically seems to drive decent normal people away who are here because of their interest in the Neo.
The whole elitist attitude that some may have really does ruin alot of other peoples fun which should be considered a crime in it self , I meen really... who wants to even have a conversation with anyone who acts like this ? I sure as hell dont !

Thats a big part of the reason I for one dont bother to come to these forums much anymore ,there are some great members here ,but weeding through the BS just doesnt seem worth it anymore.

Many of the replies of to this topic are exactly what I'm refering to. If you are a mature gamer (any age could be a potential mature gamer), then you could simply be inducted by the members to join this specific forum. It would just be nice to have a seperate forum about realists who don't buy a neo geo game and think that it is the best game they've ever played. I do not feel I am better than anyone else and I respect all opions which this site allows, but it would be nice to have a special forum to have serious conversations about serious collecting. I have had pissing matches with several members here, but I don't think any less of the people who challenge me or have a difference of opinion. I have no hard feelings toward any of the members I have ever had those pissing matches with, and if you know me well enough I don't ever ride the bandwagon as 90% of the members here do. I appreciate those memebers who have the balls and "maturity" to develop their own ideas and speak their own opinions and not just ride the NG.com wagon.

If the idea of creating this forum angers you, you must feel that you are not a candidate to participate in it, if it doesn't anger you you must feel the same and would enjoy a place we could talk about the collectivity of the games and not "man diggerman is the shit, I've been playing it for 3 months straight now, I've never played a game so deep!"

Most neo games are overall crap compared to newer generation blockbusters, but I enjoy the nestalgia of it all and enjoy the hobby very much...

We have some great members here, but many need to get a life or a reality check.
