My BF can't stand it when I beat him at KOF or any game for that matter. Should I just let him win or play hard and deal with his whining?

Thats a lame situation that I have been dealing with for a bit. If you let them win, its no fun for you cause you don't get to flex your gameplay muscles, and if you always win, they won't want to play, and no comp sucks, even when they're not really comp. I say no, or if possible, go into the dip settings and make his team secretly stronger. I dont know it thats a posibility on the KOF series.

I'm a pretty sorry loser. I love to win more than anything. However, if I knew someone was going easy on me? Oh fuck that.

In other words, keep beating him a new ass hole. It will only hurt him more if he knows you're going easy on him.

Why of course. WHY YES. Why yes, I do think I do lose gracefully.... I gracefully lose viciously! SHIT YEAH!

Nah, just kidding. I'm not a poor sport, though I used to be when I was 5-9 or so. Today it's more like... "eh... it's no big deal... plus I'm getting older and older... I'm actually appreciate the opponent" these days.

You just never know when time runs out.....

Yeah, whenever I'm in the arcade even if the controls are busted I'm like, I can't believe I can't block or charge up! But then I say that's no excuse for myself and congratulate the winner. I'm not a bastard like some of the people around here when they lose at games, jeeze, they completely take it out on the cab and ruin it!!

well in all honesty, i have that natural talent of always winning.. but there are rare occasions when i will lose, but even then i'm glad i had the opportunity to play another talented opponent because if you're always winning eventually it get boring and you lose interest.

that and you guys should also keep in mind that these are just games.. don't take them too seriously!......
cause jail is bad! i swear i didn't mean to slam his head into the arcade machine! :annoyed:

 :loco:

No, I don't.. some of the time.

Usually, I take it like a champ.. but if I get destroyed or bitched.. I get mad.

I never "lose gracefully" in the sense of accepting it. I grew up playing sports and even got a college scholarship. To lose and not motivate yourself because of it and just accept it... well it's kinda worthless to even compete.

My best friend does NOT lose gracefully..your typical sore loser. Complains, stops playing and thinks he's a master of every game. We've been playing a lot of SC2 lately and I just throw matches to him to keep him interested and from complaining. It's a little dishonorable in the fact that he's falsely inflated. It keeps him interested though and learning games until he's passable in skill to the point of actually eventually competitive.

Try that.

Let him win at times... If not, he'll just get annoyed and never play with you again... But it's hard to not let him know that you're going easy on him...

I know... Make it a strip KOF... Strip one piece of clothing if one of you loses a fight... That'll motivate him... :p

Can he take you in real life? That's all that matters, really. Be wary should he seek to counter your KOF wins with brute force.

Also, if he doesn't cool down and still gets really pissed when he loses to you, I'd say it's time to get a new boyfriend. :p

For the first few yeah but after a while i get annoyed, my bro can always beat me. But I do think its even worse when people go easy on you! Maybe let him have some practice on his own ;)

When you`re playing the cpu it doesn`t let you win because you suck really bad.....

So why should you? If he doesn`t know how to play he needs more practice and if that does not help even more :)

I think it's time you move on to bigger and better gamers.
Namely me.

Actually, I suck at fighters. So maybe Charlie is your man.

nope - i hate losing

i have trashed carts, cd's, controllers and even consoles in the past

if the person who is beating is also rubbing it in - it sends me into a spiral of madness

normally i can finsih windjammers on level 7, but sometimes just sometimes the computer ups the anti and no matter what i do i can never win, already destroyed one of my windjammers carts

it was in gamers condition so its okay :glee:

Playing the CPU I dont normally get annoyed (except when I am cheated on Sensible Soccer).

But playing another person (I usually whip most of my friends as they are not really gamers) I usually win and it really annoys me when I get beaten and then that person goes on and on about beating me in like 1 match out of 20!

I used to play my GF a lot at Busta Move (she is currently in Australia travelling :( ) and we are both equally skilled so that was always a bit of a clash.

I dont have an issue with losing to a better player. :)

I think I'm a fun loser, if you have a sense of humor. If you're sensitive and really serious, you'd probably get pissed off at me. But I don't think I can be a bad loser. Maybe during puberty.

Me and the guys I play with are make n' break types. so I think it's time to bust out the legendary "No Mercy" speech from Karate Kid.

"We are not trained to be merciful.
Mercy is for the weak.
If a man confronts you
He is the enemy
Enemy deserve NO MERCY."

I have no problems with loosing. As long as my opponent don't taunt me ( for real ) too much, I remains quiet. I think that you still learn something in a defeat. I played a lot with Scalpeur at Garou, he beat me several times but I learned a lot of tricks on this game, that's the most important.
And don't forget that it's only video games.

Lose gracefully... well that depends. If I'm playing against another person say in a VS. FIGHTING game, then yeah... I generally take it in stride. If I'm playing against the computer A.I. in whatever genre and I know damn good and well that the "Cheese Factor" has entered the fray, I'm prone to kick a hole in the TV screen, shout obsentites at the screen, throw a controller or even shoot the damn system with a .9mm Beretta. (that last one hasn't happend yet, but Ninja Gaiden III pissed me off enough I considered it).

Though I have had a few run in with some limp dicks at the local arcade who couldn't leave well enough alone in games of KOF, even when they'd won. In those instances, I broke a guys nose and left two gasping for air. Otherwise I'm more or less laid back.
