For anyone who hangs out in the Tech forum, or over at SGR, they know we like to build consolized PCBs.
This is my third 2 slot console this year and I am building another one right now also. I built this one for Earthquake here at the n-g.com forums.
***Before anyone says anything, all the wiring on the inside isn't finished yet. I just wanted to get the jump on some pics of it. I will finish all the rest of the wiring to the edge connector tomorrow or Wed. Plus I know the PCB is kinda grungy looking...I will try to clean it up.***
On to teh pics!
You can see I chose the classic black finish for the console. I didn't use a high piano gloss type finish as they show every finger print and piece of dust. This is a bit more rough black finish that once dried, resembles something on an appliance. Very tough stuff. Also I have started to use a different material for the base plate; I used a 2.5mm thick sheet of Lucite. I would have liked to have used something a little bit thicker, this has proven so far to be strong enough once mounted. The PCB is supported above the base plate using 1/2 inch aluminum standoffs. Little rubber feet on the bottom keep it from skidding and moving around.
Picture from the backside. From the left to right I have a 5 pin power inlet which attaches an external Jameco PSU to the console (I use to build them with an internal PSU, but I like this way better). To the right of it is a toggle switch for the power. Over on the far right hand side it stereo audio, composite video and S-video. The audio is tapped from the headphone jacks and the video is provided by the fab JROK (a legend in its own time).
Up close to the A/V side of the console (you can tell I am not a pro photographer - rofl).
And a picture from the Power side.
As I mentioned before, I built this for Earthquake and should have it completely finished in the next couple days at most. I will post some more pictures once I am done of the inside. I will also add a gallery over @ SGR.
After that I am going to finish up another one that needs my attention (will probably be painted in a nice gray colour) and then start on another compact SuperGun.
Bitches, discuss!
