Just curious if any of you lot ever had a pretty nice score off a garage or yard sale, video games or whatever.

I just know somewhere in Kansas or something... this very minute... lies a complete copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga for 5 bucks. Damn

For some reason, I can never find the garage sales where people are selling games. It's always shitty looking junk someone should have thrown in their garbage can.

Although this year, I did score going to a flea market where some old woman sold me a stack of 15 TG-16 games and a new Sega CD Ram cart for $6.

Living near Beverly Hills is funny... The garage sales people have are insane... stuff I could never afford... sitting on the street... Really, if you are ever on the West side you should look for some... I kid you not you can find some amazing things there, not video game related mostly (but who knows!), but if you are looking for a nice table, or some chairs, or a killer lamp or something... insane.

Except for the Gunstar Heroes that i found this weekend, this kind of stuff just doesn't happen to me. Then again, I hardly ever visit my local flea market so that might be why.:loco:

I was hanging out with a friend one night and someone he knew came by with a bunch of gaming stuff he was going to put out in a garage sell. Said he was going to give my friend first choice on it since he knew he was into that stuff. He had a SNES, Final Fantasy 3, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Super Mario Brothers, and some other SNES title. On top of that he had a Genesis, Phantasy Star IV, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic 2, Sonic, Castlevania Bloodlines, and Beyond Oasis. He wanted 30 for the whole thing so me and my friend went in half each and split the stuff up. The same guy traded my same friend a bunch of PSX games for some old books too. Since he could play burns I guess he didn't want them anymore. It was a helluva deal. He pretty much got every major PSX RPG released. I need to get friends like that.

I got a bag of M.U.S.C.L.E.S for $1. Allong with some 0.10 transformers and $1 transformers. I too never find video games at garage sales.

Best garage sell I ever went to I picked up a K-BAR Commando/Survival knife for $3.00, and a pair of NVGs (Night Vision Goggles) Sovietski-spec for only $50.00... which had a problem with them, but they lasted for a year or two to which they served a good purpose. It was this burnt out old war dog who'd been in Korea and NAM who collected stuff and just had stuff lying on the lawn. I jokingly asked him he had an RPG-5 for sale and he said: "Sold the laucnher for it 20 minutes ago, don't think it's legal to have the rocket itself though."

Other than that... there was another time I got a shitload of SATURN games (import) that were all MINT and only paid $20.00 for like 15 games. The family didn't know what to do with them after their son disowned himself from the family for whatever the reasons. To which I didn't care... I had Keio Yugekitai, Blast Wind, Nights XMAS edition, Willy Wombat and some other good titles for dirt cheap! Other than that though, Gargae sells usually suck.

The few garage sales I've been to over the last few years have yielded nothing spectacular in terms of gaming stuff.

I see the same old junk over and over....yellowed NES systems with extremely worn/rough carts. Dusty Genesis 2 systems. Crappy old PS1 systems. The occassional stray Atari 2600 or Intellivision game.

It sucks really...I think many people who do garage sales will put their gaming stuff up on eBay first since they probably hear from their friends that these old games are worth money. Either that or the hardcore sellers/collectors happen to hit the garage sales early.
