since its just $99 now. I got some extra cash from my last mugging I did. The guy had pretty large sum, so now im thinking of getting some new gaming stuff.

I'm thinking of probably a black cube, memory card and at least 1 or 2 games. I need some good recommendations cause im not sure what the fuck to get for this system.

I'm mainly into fighting games, some rpgs and strategy games. I'm not really into zelda or various other type games much.

if you're into any form of fighting games, get ultimate muscle legend vs. new generation. it's the game that ties in with the kinnikuman comics from japan, and with the M.U.S.C.L.E. toys from here in the states in the 1980's. and as for any other games, there's a whole mess to choose from. zelda to metroid, mario party, to mario golf; and there's always the holy grail of gc games, godzilla destroy all monsters melee.

Well so far I want to get

Viewtiful Joe

Harvest Moon: Wonderful Life(I always wanted to check out this series.)

Animal Crossing (this is a big maybe, I mean its looks extremely cutesy and that kind of shit turns me off) Any opinons on it would be nice.

I cant think of anything else that catches my interest. Any rpgs that are not Zelda?

It's a sidescrolling beat-em up...classic style.

The game is based on the premise you're inside a movie.
You eventually learn to control time, either slowing down the world allowing you to be more "specific" with your attacks...or speeding things up, allowing you to dish out amazing damage fairly quick...or "zooming in" on your character, during which time you're allowed to do several special moves...like spinning scissor kicks for example.

There are also platforming puzzles involved with the time control. For instance, if time slows down, helicopter blades do too, and the helicopter falls to the ground...conversely, speeding time up sends the helicopter soaring higher into the sky.

Slowing things down also allows you to not only see bullets or other projectiles you otherwise wouldn't see...but dodge them, or punch them back at the enemy...etc.

It's a really genius game. Very hard and very much worth $39.99.

Well put.

The game is just a friggin' blast.

Especially on the later the levels, where enemies start to come at you in waves and you're left fighting like a Mad Man, pulling off insane combos and crazy moves. All the while trying to conserve energy and figure out the best moves to suit your current situation.

Honestly, there is nothing more satisfying than racking up hundreds of V-Points after laying some multi-hitting Slow-Mo punches and Red Hot Kicks on a horde of ballerina dressed robots.

The Gamecube is probably the one system that I will continue regularly buying games for. It seems like no one makes any truly great games anymore but Nintendo. PS2 has had some cool stuff, but it just hasn't been the same.

Metroid (fantastic)
Rocky (i absolutely love this game, going 11 rounds with mr.t is a blast)
Sonic Mega Collection (gameplay drips off the disc, and it has fucking RISTAR on it as a secret game, which is absolutely great.)
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (Sorry Mario but this is 3D platforming 101)
Viewtiful Joe (haven't played it yet but i adore side scrollers so i know it's gonna rock)
F-ZERO GX (2000kph, what more needs saying? oh yeah, it's made by SEGA!)
Resident Evil Remake (best RE in my opinion , fantastic graphics and extras)

Fighters and RPGs aren't exactly this system's highest points.

RPG's: Skies of Arcadia: Legends, better than the Dreamcast version but a bit cutesy.
Lost Kingdoms 2, not the best out there but far from the worst.

Fighters: Soul Calibur 2 unless you own it for another system.
One of the Bloody Roar's or Wrestling games are the only other recommendations.

Growing up everyone was into either Mario or Sonic. The good thing is you get a choice of both games on this system. Currently I'm trying to get an A rank in every mission in Sonic Adventure 2 battle.

Regarding Sonic Mega Collection, anybody know if it is possible to play as Knuckles in Sonic 2/3?

With that, Wario Ware, Ikaruga, and more on the way (Gotcha Force, Dream Mix TV World Fighters), you're really doing yourself a disservice if you let this pass you by.

Oh yeah, do get F-Zero GX. You really can't go wrong.

Yes. The games are listed seperately from the originals. You can choose from Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, and so forth. But later down the line you can choose from Sonic 2 with Knuckles or Sonic 3 with Knuckles. The games seem to be emulated and work the same was as the emulated versions do as far as the lock on stuff goes. Then again, it's rather difficult to see how it could work any other way. The nice thing is that Sonic 3 with Knuckles will read the data from your Sonic 3 save and start you off at the right places. I don't think the reverse applies however, so be sure to play through Sonic 3 with everyone and get everything first.

The Gamecube might not have a strong RPG showing but it certainly has some great titles coming down the line. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is a nice departure from the normal turn based battles, and in multiplayer the game is incredibly fun. Single Player isn't quite as intense however. Tales of Phantasia and Baten Kaitos however look to be really good drawn out classic styled RPGs. If your an RPG fan those games alone would probably be enough to get you to buy a Gamecube. Sadly, they won't be out around here until sometime in 2004 is my guess.
