The Mortal Kombat series: Who hates it?

Well, the other thread made me think of it, but out of respect for the posters in there I decided to make this instead of trashing the game in that thread. I hate the MK series. Though many peeps I know really liked it, I just never enjoyed it. It was like a supped up pit fighter IMO. Anyway, If your not a fan, post here.

I like Mortal Kombat 2 - PCB/arcade version.

I played it to death back in the day and I still think it's a classic- and the best US produced fighter ever.

The rest are all pretty bad- MK

A on the GC/PS2?Xbox is ok.

Yep MK2 was sweet, all the rest sucked ass. DA isn't that great either

I liked MK, MK2, and MK: DA but the others were pretty trashy.

MK2 is the ultimate in the series though, its the only one I still play.

I use to think the fighters looked shite in animation plus i didnt like the gameplay either, i did like the death moves but never really got into that series.

MK2 was the best of the series, MK3 made so many people pissed because of no scorpion or sub-zero, all the characters in MK3 were half-ass (Striker, Nightwolf, Sheeva, Cyrax) Yet were not as well balanced as MK2 had. The Combo System was out of whack, why would a 5 hit combo only make 30% damage (take Smoke for example, kick, teleport uppercut, then HP, HP, LK, HK, and LP), when adding a trip, making it a 6 hit only did 31%? Just never added up

I own a dedicated MK2 cab, that's how much I like that game.

MK, MK3, and MK DA are decent, MK4 was trash.

well, I used to adore it, but now it still has a special place in my mind, because of all the childhood memories. I, howvere, am looked at strangely when I say I liked MKT the most, though MK2 was definitely a gem.
