Castlevania: LoI

Anyone want to tell me WHY this game is being released a FULL MONTH later in Japan?

I didn't buy a Japanese PS2 so I could fucking wait LONGER for games.

Dunno why its being released there later than here, but I will be enjoying some sweet, sweet CV action next week.

Eh? Its coming out next week? Hmm...Looks like i know what i'll be using part of my paycheck for.

Awe shit, this soon? Damn, I don't get any time to catch up on my games. I still need to get Viewtiful Joe, PN03, and quite a few GBA titles that I have still yet to pick up. Jesus...Oh well, suits me well though. I don't think I've bought a PS2 release since Contra, excluding VF4:Evo, which wasn't a purchase, it was a fucking steal. I just can't seem to find many good PS2 games out of all the crap, so I only seem to get the high profile titles.

I know at the least the music will still be incredible, I just hope the gameplay and environments are up to snuff. The E3 demo left me pretty cold. Oh well...if it tanks, it just means they'll have to go back to making 'em the ol fashioned way. But I sincerely hope it's great.

I would have preordered it, but I have doubts as to how good it is. It's not out in Japan yet and no reviews yet!

Some magazines have reviews for the game already. I think Game Informer and EGM have done reviews and gave it around 7-8 out of 10 on average. One of the most important things to me in Castlevania has come to be atmosphere, and it just seems to be lacking it. The main character feels a little to "anime like" when presented in 3D. It just doesn't seem as unique as it once did. But the stages and such seem to hold up alright. Just have less detail to the artwork on the walls and so forth. I honestly hope the game doesn't do as well as the Gameboy counterparts. Maybe they can figure out that Castlevania is just better left to the 2D relm. I'm not asking for it to bomb or anything, and I hope it is enjoyable...I just don't want it to out do some of the classics.
