£150 Xmas Xbox bundle confirmed
>> Recent weeks have seen both Sony and Nintendo cut the price of their consoles, but Microsoft has kept to their price point, saying Xbox already offers good value for money.

However as we reported several weeks ago, a £150 Christmas bundle was said to have been announced to a small number of retailers at the X03 event in the South of France, and it's finally appeared on Amazon.co.uk, who are selling it for £139.99 - £10 less than the RRP.

The bundle is due to go on sale on October 31st, the same day that a new Xbox Live starter kit is believed to be launching in the UK, and would likely signal the start of an unofficial price cut on the console itself as retailers aim to remain competitive by either reducing the console price or creating their own bundles

Compact? Like make it smaller... combine the two together? Is it doubling in price? Now I see, Compat: $99 (PS2) + $99 (GC) = $200 (XBox).

If Sony does drop the price of their system, it will most likely be to the $149 price point or slightly lower. Since there has always been a $50 or so price difference between the price of a PS2 and GC, I'm sure that Sony and MS will see no reason to "match" the GC's price move.

you'd think with the systems being out as long as they have they would drop the price more.

one thing that really bugs me though is back when the GameCube was still $149 new, GameStop was selling used ones for $89.....

now that the new GameCube's are $99, GameStop is still selling used ones for $89. :very_ang:

This news actually concerns the UK, notice he is quoted in pounds sterling, not the USD.
