chatroom doesn't work (yet again)

Well, I haven't any answer from the mods to those who can't the chatroom to work. Specifically those who the screen blank with a no.

I had the same problem, I have the screen with
the "No" on the top left corner, I rebooted my comp and
it was back working like a wonder....

Are you sure you are signed in? I get the no screen whenever I'm not logged in to the boards.

I log in and log out and the no comes out. I have used mozilla, netscape, explorer, safari, and even konqueror. and I still get the same shit.

I checked and it's working for me. I've logged in and out several times. Once fatguy was there... Sadly I wasn't paying attention at the time :(. Then he logged out :crying:

If it gives you a "no" that means it's not getting your cookie correctly.

I've been having a few probs too...

Hi Jeff.

My chatroom was working fine until I started changing my settings on my firewall.

I set it to high max defense and then it refused to load up the chatroom... in fact it locked my PC on a nimber of occasions.

I've now set it to back to medium defense... I hope this cures my PC of stupid behaviour!:mad:

I want in the chatroom! :mad: What do I have to change in my edit options so I can join the fun? This is making me sad that I cant chat with everyone and Im locked out with jeff bogard. I get the exact same message as him. "no".........Mouse Master, Shawn let me in the chatroom. :(

PLEASE!!!

so...basic ally those of us behind a firewall are completely screwed I take it?

BTW, does the chat room require JVM or does it use something else, because JVM crashes my comp anyway ^^;

I don't think thats the case. At work I can easily get to the chat and I am certainly behind a very rigid and restricted firewall.


The chat looks to be 100% php driven. It doesn't appear to require a JVM to be installed.

correct me if I'm wrong, but php is server-side correct? what drives the user-side interface?

either way, I still can't see it. It hates me =(

uhmmm...good question. I think its all HTML embedded on the client side.

damnit, all I get is the "no" as well. I have it set to allow all cookies from the neo-geo domain and I have my security on low. There is also no firewall. I don't understand.

I think i kno how to fix this problem,you need to have yes checked on in your personal profile options.Because when i had it on no the error of getting a no in the chat room occured.

You are right! The second option "Automatically login when you return to the site? (uses cookies)" has to be set to yes. I changed it and now I can chat. Thx SnkChef:buttrock:

I had the same problem before now I can finally say hi to everyone. :D
