Yeah, because I noticed they are the same slot. Is there a difference between genesis 1 A/V cable and the newer genesis?

Yes. Different connector.

The PC Engine doesn't have a port for A/V connectivity. It only natively supports RF and A/V capability is added in through the use of the A/V BOOSTER expansion module. Even then, it just uses a standard composite to composite connection cable (male plugs on both ends of the cable).

I think you may be mistaking the Coregrafx or one of the later PC Engine models as having a Neo-compatible A/V cable.
