I was at my local Sunsplash/Golfland arcade in the Sacramento/Roseville area just last night and I stumbled upon SNK vs. Capcom Chaos. I didn't think that Sunsplash would ever get it since I asked the manager and he told me Neo games do not make enough money to warrant a purchase of a new game. Anyways, I played through about six stages in 1player and then some guy challenged me. I played him a total of six times and beat him every time. He kept jumping in time after time and I would just simply do a anti-air. Anyways it was pretty funny, the guy was getting pissed off and hitting the buttons harder every match. I was glad that he kept re-matching me since it allowed me to see all of the backgrounds and have more playing time with the game. I am dissapointed with the backgrounds, I only really liked two of them. The forest stage and the nude place are cool but the rest of the BG's such as the factory and power plant/space station look like garbage and were obviously slapped together quickly. The game play wasn't bad, although I didn't have enough play time on it to really get into it. I did however like the dash and it made up for the lack of running just fine. The game is nothing that has not been done already but a worthy purchase if you are a fighting game fan to say the least. I will be getting it as soon as I get my Candy Cab.

I have had a lot of fun out of it ..but as you say it has all been done before and those backdrops you mention being slapped together,
they are not even of 8 bit quality and the houses look just like sketches and so much colour was involved... not !

I have played this game more in 3 weeks than any other neo game in a long time.
Its good Athena and Red Arremer are there to play against... it makes u win in certain ways so you get to fight them and makes it more fun as u have a quota to keep and cant just finish everyone off with a super or a head kick.

Just wish they had taken maybe a little bit longer on the game though so it could have been great instead of good .

Lee, did you figure out the criteria to fight the secret fighters at the end?

And I pretty much agree with your little review mikace. I've had a lot of fun with the game, but it could have been something spectacular if only a few things were tweaked (i.e. backgrounds).

Yes, i get to fight them every time now

All you have to do to definately get to them is make sure you dont lose a round and finish of atleast 6 rounds with a normal special move or a super special,
for instance if you finish of everyone with a fireball before you get to the end boss then you will usually get Athena, however if you do the special move to finish a fighter off and they block it but die as not enough energy left on more than two occassions, then you get Arremer.

The best way to try it out though is to set the board on 1 round win so that way if you finish the 6 of as described then you definately get to fight them.

Edit: I just played it again on the two point win system and made sure i won with at least 7 specials with no round loses and got to Athena, so thats all you need to do to be sure.

I seem to steadily get Athena if I beat the game in under 9 minutes. I only got to Red Arremer once, but I don't remember how I played the game up to him :(

After several weoks of bashing it's cool to see some good opinions about this game.
