I plan on buying a DC from my friend at work It isn't "modded" or anything funky/fancy like that. But my question is can it play Imported games or do I need somehting for that like PSX. Also the main game I wish to get is KOF 2002 is that only an Import, b/c on ebay they have one and it doesn't say if it is an import or not. Well thanks to anyone who responds.

There a different bootdisc's on the market that you can use to play import games on your DC. If you use the bootdisc's you don't have to open your DC or other technical stuff :) .

The bootdisc's that you can use are the Utopia bootdisc or Xploder bootdisc. First you drop the bootdisc in the DC and then you put the import game in. And voila you can play all the import games you want.

If I am right you can find the Utopia and Xploder bootdisc's on the net :multi_co:

Good luck !

You can also download a Gameshark Disc Image, then burn it to a CD yourself with Nero. It's a little more of a pain than getting it modded, but it costs less, and you don't have to send your system out to get modded.

And yes, KOF 2000-2002 are import only, you will need to modify your system or use a boot disc to play them.

You can download ISOs of the Utopia bootdisc from Kazaa very easily. When burning it, be sure to use a CD-R and not RW - Dreamcasts don't like the latter at all.

You shouldn't have a problem with reading CD-Rs unless you have a pretty late Japanese DC - and seeing as you want to play imports from the land of the rising sun, we'll assume that you've got a bog-standard US one.

And yes, KOF2002 is only available as an import.
