i ve read about this too in the paper about alot of jobs being
outsourced to India, mostly being IT jobs that others in those countries
would gladly work for half of what people get paid for them here.
i thought this was halfway relevant since USAA, a rather large
insurance company and one of the bigger businesses to have
its base here in texas is one of them, outsourcing call center jobs
and other jobs to mainly India.
i looked at some of the figures and they seemed pretty high for over the years.
especially for white collar jobs,
but it seems to be a trend for companies as many of them are
downsizing, and to be fair, havent resorted to these business
tactics yet but probably would given the savings of having to
pay their own workforce a fair market price here in the states
and for health care and all the trimmings of full time employment.
