I dont think its looking too good for a DC port due to the fact its coming to PS2 first and it looks damn good.

If they were going to do a DC port Im sure it would have came before the PS2 or around the same time and would have been announced by now. :crying:

I think its time to put the DC to rest. The system had its day in the sun (however short), and making games for it just doesn't rake in the moolah it used to. Putting forth the manpower just to appease a couple hundred DC users on the internet isn't really very business savvy, especially since they can apply that manpower to more important things.

I do not know what you are on but DC has had a long running since 98 in japan and continues on today.I never buy US games so how the DC did here does not bother me.But let me say my DC collection is 150 strong and look forward to as many games as publishers are willing to put out.If you go to NCSX all of their top selling games are DC imports and continue to sell strong to this day.

Playmore do the right thing and Release SNK Vs Capcom Chaos On Dreamcast. I mean how hard is it to add 18 new Character sprites to the KOF engine modify it and Add Backgrounds.

Also The Snk Vs Capcom will be built like all games by playmore on ADX Cri Sega Hardware. Metal Slug 3,Kof 2k and k1 Ps2 run on this as well as all the ports on te dreamcast of SNK titles.

A Metal Slug 3 port would not be hard to do for Dreamcast there only needs to be a demand.

I am not giving up hope!

Like developing for the Neo? A smaller userbase on the internet that is willing to shell out 6 to 7 time more $'s for a game?

You're right they should stop DC production, no use in developing games for a dead system that only gets 4 or 5 releases a year.

I own a Dreamcast and I'd really like to see more SNK
games for my console... but it's very unlikely (KOF
apart).
The only good DC game this year will be Puyo Puyo Fever,
and I'm afraid this is the end.

this does sound kind of funny, i mean cmon 2k2 sold 15,000 copies within the first few weeks as I remember for the DC, and they felt it was a success and said as long as their is support or they see a demand they will do it. Im sure making some GD-roms is a bit cheaper then neo homecarts and your making it sound like there is a much higher number in demand for neo homecarts then DC ports?

I've got all the hope in the world as I still don't want to be forced to buy a PS2 just for a few games that I want to play. SvC:Chaos should come out on the DC as a last hurrah as PLaymroe surely have got to know that it will sell well due to the actual game that it is. I for one would buy it at the drop of a hat (although I really need to get my TV back from my uncle's first:crying: !)

Hope,hope,hope,hope,hope,hope,hope, and so on:)

You're right they should stop DC production, no use in developing games for a dead system that only gets 4 or 5 releases a year.

That's just it though. While the Neo has a fairly small userbase, the products they buy sell for much higher prices. If the games sold for the same price as your standard DC port ($30-$40 US roughly), they'd only make an eighth to a tenth of the money from your standard MVS/AES cart.

The thing with that is there is no ports for any other systems, so that's the only choice porters had, and naturally sales for it would be relatively high. However, since SvC is getting a port on the PS2 first (both in Japan and the US), its likely that sales of the DC port will be much lower than that of previous ports. If the DC port was coming out first, then it would be a different story.

Its not that I'm totally against a DC port (so long as it doesn't take away work on the PS2 and possible X-Box port). SNKP can make one if they want, and if they make decent money off it, then all the better. I just don't think they'll see it as worth it since the PS2 port is coming out and that will definetely sell more copies than a DC port would (since many more people own PS2's than Dreamcasts).

They will be making more money on the DC and PS2 ports than they will ever make for the Neo, plain and simple. Exppensive carts mean learge overhead and minimal profits.

Fingers crossed:D But i think there's a higher than average chance of it happening, as snkp have a very good relationship with sega, i mean, look at it like this, when playmore took over from snk, one of the first things they did was to re-release Last Blade 2(aka Gekka no Kensi: Final Edition)and Mark of the Wolves, even they had been released on the system by snk yonks ago. Plus, on the snkp web site under the @friends' section (i think it was called friends, it's been a while since i visited) you get links to capcom and sega's websites, so you never can tell, shit, what with the demise of mvs in favour of atomiswave, there might be more dc ports to come! (yeah right, i freakin' wish:D )

Some are pissing me off sending DC to the grave! You're the kind of guy who said "Neo-Geo is dead" five years ago!
Dreamcast is not dead, its fanbase is still growing day-by-day and I'm very excited about the future of this machine!
Atomiswave being the new MVS,
the Dreamcast IS the new AES/NGH!!!

Dreamcast rulezzz, always! :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock:

There, fixed it for you :)

I agree completley that the DC is the new Neo, hell I still hold out hope that SNK deems it as such and develops games strictly for it after they really kill off the Neo.

Has a very similar cult like following, been considered dead since it's conception, despite that it still gets more releases a year than a dead system should.

They could release arcade perfect ports from the atomiswave to DC and also stay in line with the original Neo idea.

just hope games don't start costing 320 bucks.. anyway, the dreamcast has a big problem - rife with piracy.

Still there is something to be said about releasing games for a popular `dead system´
you see while it may not be the best option for companies who can get to the mass market throught the three next gen systems, a popular collector's/player's system such as Saturn or Dreamcast is still a good place to release limited edition software.

I think Saturn was more akin to Neo Geo. Way more hardcore than Dreamcast and a 2d specialist.

I would LOVE some Hong Kong company to invent some sort of adapter or Dreamcast hybrid that allows you to plug in Atomiswave carts. Can't this be done? Would it not be cool?
I'd buy one.

Dreamcast is great for 2d fighters but lately I've been
quite disappointed. KOF 2002 port is not perfect, and
it seems PS2 ports are startin' to look better...
Also, DC has slower loadin' times compared to
PS2.

hmm only loading i noticed in 2k2 is the first screen when you first boot the game which is standard on all those ports. Otherwise waiting like a millisecond is fast enough IMO.

PS2 port of 2000' does not load when it starts up.It goes straight to the Playmore logo and then the intro. There are also no loads between rounds.

I like the DC but it seems that Playmore is so fond of using the interpolated graphics for every DC ports starting from KOF 2000.This was not the case for the previous KOF 98 and the KOF 99 evo ports...

Hope for a DC port of SvC? Hell, I'll just be happy if SNKP finally puts it out on the AES.

Have faith people and we may just see the final glory that many of us are waiting for. I'd love to own my own copy and unvail all the secrets within the game (still haven't had the oppertunity to play against Athena or the Red Arremer yet:mad: !)

Have faith.....in your DC;) !
