Being that this is a Neo-Geo BBS, I imagine most folks here will just instinctively blurt out 'Neo MVS!'. But hear me out...

For me, pound for pound, I think CPS-1 is the best arcade hardware ever. Not only in terms of how good it looked at the time it arrived, but in terms of sheer number of absolutely phenomenal games it sported. The good definitely outweighs the crap on this piece of kit. Let's take a look at the heavy CPS-1 hitters....

1941
Area 88 (UN Squadron)
Cadillacs N Dinosaurs
Final Fight
Forgotten Worlds
Ghouls N Ghosts
Knights Of The Round
Mercs
The Punisher
Saturday Night Slam Masters
Street Fighter II, ', HF
Strider
Varth
Warriors Of Fate

I mean, in this assortment, it's not just mainly fighters...there's a bit of everything that made 16-bit arcade games great. What an insane roll Capcom was on in the late 80's-early 90's.

Discuss.

In the past, it was the CPS 2 for the fighting games.I also liked the model 3 for sporting VF3 which was the 1st graphically intense 3d fighter at that time in the arcades. It also has Daytona 2 and scud racer which were not even released for any consoles till now. They are my favourite arcade racers as well.

At present, i feel that the Naomi is the best for it's variety of games from GGX/XX to house of the dead 2 to crazy taxi. All of them looked great and were fun to play.

you know man, her's my opinion. and seriously loopz, im sorry for spamming your htread if im a bit itpsy. just read my thread in the waroom and you'll be chipper :)

naomi. I mean, god man. dreamcst got me iback into loving games. all of the games on this sytem, albeit, not quite CLASSICS like loopz was naming, are legit, fun games in a time when the art of gaming was prety much lost. powerstone? mvsc2? man, such great games having such a good time. this is the kind of stuff i revel in. imagine a world where this kindo f games got the justice and priase theyh deserved!!!!!!! this is the kind of world i would like to live in, and this is the world i lived in from 1998 to 2001, when the dreamcast thrived. virtua tennis 2k1 and 2k2, oh m god. man, me and my friends had such a good time and tourney with that game, I have to say, it was the best gaming event of my life possibly.

buro destruct was a part of it, and he lost horribly to sam thomas and i....he refused to hold up to his part of the bargain and wear a shirt around town that said BONER PATROL. him and his partner, pussied out. they threw a fit like weiners, but thats alright. the time we had playing the game was epic, and worth the dissent. Great times, naomi. kept it up. if i could afford such hardware, it'd probly be the first thing for me to get!

I think MVS is, and I'm not saying that just because I'm on a Neo board or anything, it's my honest opinion. It has a wealth of fighters, good shooters, and a huge variety of other games. Neo Turf Masters, Metal Slug, Wind Jammers, Magical Drop, Twinkle Star Sprites, Puzzle Bobble, League Bowling, Ganryu (yes, I actually like this game), 2020 Super Baseball, Shock Troopers, Money Puzzle Exchanger, and those Mahjong games if you're into them. Really, I think the MVS is the best Arcade hardware with it's variety and abundance of quality titles compiled with the fact that you can interchange carts so easily and have one machine host 6 quality games to bring in $$$ quickly (from an arcade standpoint).

Alien Syndrome
E Swat

Can't think of any more off hand.
Well, okay maybe not the best but one of my big favorites.

I agree with Loopz, CPS1 has been the best arcade hardware for its time, it really helped to push the arcade industry. In my opinion it has the 2 bestest arcade games EVA: Street Fighter 2 and Final Fight. They have been copied to death, but never supered.

CPS 1 or CPS 2

I simply cannot decide, but I think CPS 2 would win out in my mind

When you look at the games and influence that the cps1 had, it's clearly the best hardware in history. As far as pure nostalgia goes, system 16 will always be my favorite.
