Recently I was at a friends house and we decided to pop this sucker in and play it for some laughs. Still even after Perfect Dark, Red Faction, Halo, and Medal of Honor this game is still tops! Still I find this to be the most fun with it's glitches and lack of really strategy. Nothing beats the Facility with Proxy mines! NOTHING!

Anyone with me on this one?

Im super close to agreeing with you on this one, but perfect dark is my first, then goldeneye. Timekillers and the halo series are fine, but not quite the same to me.

I've had YEARS of fun with Goldeneye, but Halo is the new king, IMHO.

With that said, when I first saw Perfect Dark (about three years after it came out, mind you) I was floored. The game blew my mind, and the game had been out for a while. There were some things it did well. I still liked Goldeneye more. Anyhow, great game. I have no idea how many hours I've wasted in the world of Goldeneye!

Multiplayer-wise, while I still prefer Saturn Bomberman GoldenEYE no less remains a quality title on a system I didn't care much for. But like I said, the game rocked, and rocked so hard it went above which system it was for or who made it... it was that damn good.

My friends and I played this a lot (see that new Maximum Exposure thread, creepy, I posted on G.EYE in that thread and then saw this one!) and my favorite memory of GEYE was when our parents dragged us to this one big family-friend warehouse party.

Me and the guys were pretty bored. Pool provided entertainment but only for so long. Then we uncovered this one room and lo and behold... in the far corner was:

-A TV

-An N64

-A copy of Golden Eye

-4 controllers

It was like a gift from the Gaming Gods. We played GEYE all night long while the roar of the parents' laughter reverbarated through the halls. Great times indeed!

Totally agree. Goldeneye is still the king. A few months ago I hooked it up to my 43" big screen, man it was great! Still a great game at parties and the "No one plays as blow-job" rule still stands! I hate that little fucker!

One Hit One Kill + Knives Only = Psycho Goldeneye gaming!!

Goldeneye was great when it came out. It still is, but as far as multiplayer is concerned Perfect Dark is the king. There are just so many more weapons, maps, play modes, and not to mention the ability to add bots that Golden Eye just pales in comparison. I think i was in 10th or 11th grade when Perfect Dark came out and me and all my buddies would play it afterschool every day for months. We rented it so many times each of us could have bought a copy.

I haven't found a multiplayer game that much fun in a long time, maybe Battlefield 1942 but Perfect just has some magic battlefield is missing.

Goldeneye was great for its time. But its single player is vastly outdated compared to Halo and Half Life. Goldeneyes multi-player was aslo excellent, but again was surpassed by Free Radicals Time Splitters series.

Goldeneye is still a classic though. :)

goldeneye is the perfect example that a movie can be made to a game. it was a no rush job just to cash in on a great movie! other game makers should take note

I can't play Goldeneye or Perfect Dark anymore. Its like looking at mud with vasoline smeared on my face. What a slop-heap of blurry faces and textures. Ugh.

Timesplitters= Underrrated.
Timesplitters 2= Boring.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but this game is the most fun I have with multiplayer FPS.

Even with advanced graphics and insane options with other FPS, GoldenEye seems to remain the all time fav.

We retired it last Winter though. It was just time to move on.

False.

If there was a best shooter it would certainly not be for a console.

I forget it was even a movie. Most games based off movies bite something fierce, most.

Agreed Goldeneye fuckng rocks,i still play this game with friends most weekends. We really have ragged the fuck out of this game over the years,we grew up with it.It shall always be a firm fav with me.True,it does look like shit now but the gameplay NEVER gets old.Knives only and the Facility are gold.Speaking of which the film is on later here in the UK.

Timesplitters is also a great mutliplayer game, had many a good time with that one.

I wouldnt say the best but definetly on my top 5. Halo I think would be tops for me. I't has so much to do along with a great story. To keep you going. Many people say that Halo is only good multiplayer but I play the one/two player all the time.
