What is it about KoF, that I don't understand???

Before anyone starts flamming me out, hear me out. I have owned only 1 KoF, it was for DC and It was 2000. I played a couple others and they all seem pretty much the same, with diff logos, artists. The moves seem to stay the same, the sprites seem to stay the same, the animation seems to stay the same, so what I don't understand about KoF is, why does it warrent a purchase of $325 every year??? Just to complete the collection of KoF titles? What am I missing?? I mean with MS, you get new vehicles, levels,etc..I understand why you would want to own all of those. But what's the general feeling on KoF?? Do most off you skip a year or two between shellin out for newest vers. or do you buy each years, and why???

As these do have big differences betwen them.

New (or continued) storylines, music, backgrounds, characters, additional or variations on moves, endings, and for us homecart whores, art. It's worth the price.

What is it about ??? It is about the best game ever made, I have all of them at least twice Home version and MVS and I love them all equally. Everyone of them is different from the other but still a master piece in its own right thats my opinion any way.

I also think that you have to have followed the series rather than play them at random. I bought KOF94 when it came out on homecart after only playing samurai shodown and street fighter II and me and my friends were blown away and they have only got better since.Robert Garcia and Takuma best fighters ever.....
