I'm really looking forward to winter this year. It'll be my 3rd year snowboarding and I can't wait to get out and hit the mountains, and by mountains I mean MOUNTAINS not some groomed resort where you have to pay to board (not that there's anything wrong with that). Living in WV means that there are millions of hills and mountains you can board on for free which works out great for me as I'm not anywhere near good enough to go boarding where 100 other people can see me. Anyone else looking forward to hitting the mountain this winter?

yeah, that happened to me too. I was racing some guys in the snowy parking lot down its hill for fun at the mountain, and I was beating them...then hit a clump of ice (which i thought was snow at the time) misjudged and flew onto the ground with the board..it was pretty funny because the guy who was right on my tail went over the clump too and hit the ground. I had a bruise and cut up my leg for a few weeks. he hit his head on the ground but was fine.

Perhaps I and a few friends will hire a snowmobile or something and head up into the mountains this year, the tourists resorts just have you waiting in front of the lifts half the day over here. :P

Count me in, I love boarding.

Too bad I need to travel so much for it, the Netherlands are flat as can be.

I still have a burton a59 freestyle deck, until now, it has stood the test of time :)

Psst. Snowboarding is for chums. Anyone go surfing this summer? I was surfing the Lake Michigan and was going all out. I was riding a giant 1ft wave. I was on top of the world.
