There is one thing that's keeping this game from totally grooving with me: The music. A shooter needs a geat score that not only functions well, but makes the game "Come Alive". The music here however, is a horrid display of generic 16-bit melodies fused with school-band jazz and synth that came straight out of the 80's.

Poor instrumentation, poor compositional quality, and un-creative melodic structure is the best way to sum this up. Otherwise, the game itself is fantastic, but the music keeps me from totally absorbing myself into the game.

How about you folks?

The music for this game is great.
A sweet throwback.

Hmmm... maybe for a virtual chick to jump out the TV screen ala' Video Girl Ai and slob my Johnson while I try to beat the game at the same time? *You gotta' admit no one's come up with that ingenious game device yet... Kojima's got solar power affectin' his game... so yeah, a virtuoid woman manifested into the real world, sucking you while you struggle to keep your composure and beat the game. *With a 24 hour option for other acts as long as your playing a game on the said system or by the same company. Or maybe just leave the TV on and as long as the game's loaded you've got your Virtual Whore hanging out with you. *This would be like the Holy Grail for dorks who need a date to the prom.

I haven't heard any of the music yet, but most peoples' reaction to it seems to be positive. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I'm still awaiting my copy. Didn't show today, so probably Monday or Tuesday (I hope).

Yeah, I got it too. Since the music is the hot topic, I'll add my 2 cents... I'm pretty apathetic to it. It's not good, it's not bad.

As for the game, the enemies are pretty uninspired, and the game isn't really full of originality, but it's still quite fun. I'm enjoying it, but I was really itching for a new shooter.

I can't wait for shikigami no shiro 2!!! I've had mine preordered for like two months now :).

Alright, got this in the mail today.

The music is definitely... 'meh' at best. Kind of reminds me of a billiards game on Genesis or something. Not really digging it. Game looks and plays nice though. Nothing too revolutionary, but it's definitely a shooter. No mistaking that.

The music is utilitarian at best . That's not to say it's bad, but you could throw that music into any game. As a shooter soundtrack, it does absolutely nothing for me.
