Payment and insurance is sick, so i opted for an SVT Focus, six speed and handles great. They have a two door and a four door in stock, i will decide tomorrow. I know its not an evo or wrx but any one have any input on this?

Guy I used to work with had a focus and wanted the SVT really bad. He was all about it. I would say since it's a SVT go 2-door. Unless your married or you have a lot of friends that bum rides off off you. Then you might want to consider a 4-door.

It follows Magna's 2nd law of Automotion™

There is an inverse relationship between the size of a driver and the relative size of their vehicle.

Ex: Large/fat people will choose to drive Geo Metros, Chevrolet Cavaliers and Ford Escorts. Small/short people will be seen in Ford Excursions, Chevrolet Suburbans and Dodge Durangos.

I have friend that each just bought one of each, and having riden in them both, I prefer the STi. Just a little bit better. The selling poing of the Evo in comparison to the STi: has a radio.

The insurance is that bad eh? Not fun. :(

I'm not much of a Focus fan at all, but I'd say get the 2 door if you're really going to just be driving yourself around in it.

Sad, I prolly won't ever get an STi or Evo either. That's too much money for a car so small that it's not very practical, especially if you're going to start a family. $30K can nab you one HELL of a nice Dodge RAM with a Hemi though, so at least I'll own one dream car (or truck). :D

Tell me about it. I'm still not used to my SpecV's six speed and I've been driving it for a month now.

Love driving it though. Puts a grin on my face every time I sit down in it. :D

Enjoy the new car.

get a 1978 international scout. greatest cars ever made.
120101%20012Thumb.gif

base models have a 22 inch ground clearance automatically, and yet their wide chassis makes it so they don't flip, always 4wd, and an 8-cylinder engine, get one in diesel, and you'll be set. you can actually get scouts for cheap on indian reservations, i've seen em go for $100 with a new transmission, and running.

Who cares about making a family before they're in their 30s. Come on man. Especially in terms of driving a damn car.

Get something you want to have fun in. The STi and the EVO are both awesome cars. I like the STi more because it has better handling. The EVO has the central and rear differential, but the STi has front, central and rear.

ALSO: Subaru is well known to make cars that last longer. Mitsubishi is on the OPPOSITE end of the spectrum.

Because it's not practical perhaps?

Brutal power? Please stop before I puke.

Seriously, it's hardly an everyday car. Driving in the snow would be sheer stupidity.

Not to mention the car looks a bit like ass compared to the '94-'98 Cobra's. I know someone who sold their '03 Cobra because it looked like shit to them, sold that got another WS6 Trans Am, dropped in the leftover money to build up the car and needless to say most '03 Cobra's won't be touching that WS6 anytime soon...

Let's face it, Mustang's aren't the end all that you wish they were.

This comes from a ex-Cobra owner BTW.

Your trying to talk practical here??? If your looking at an evo or an STI you are not talking practical. My Supercharged Saleen gets better gas milage than my friends regular WRX. And saying the 03 cobra isnt brutal power for a showroom car??? Ive seen bone stock cobras breaking into the 11's. Vipers do not do that off the showroom floor. They run low 12's. As for going out and buying a WS6 gee id like to see you go buy a nice shiny new one off the showroom floor. Oh wait you cant because they are just awefully designed cars and no one wanted them. Soory but for the $$ you can not buy a better performing car than a 03 cobra off the showroom floor.

what's so special about saleens anyway? aren't they just modified mustangs that go faster? I see them frequently around my area, but don't know what makes them special.

But then again I do live in pasadena. Where I also see porsche 911 boxters frequently. Multiple times a day (though as far as expensive cars go they're only worth change)

I forgot to mention that I've drove a mitsu evo and a eclipse.
They are soo freakin numb to drive. Good choice on the SvT.
Mitsu are crap.

I have a Dodge Stealth TT and that's the close I'll ever come to own a mistsu.

You will get used to it. I drove a stick for 10 years; way more fun than an automatic:

Manuals are:
1.) More efficient
2.) You get more power out of the engine
3.) Break down less often assuming you don't burn out the clutch

So you will be glad to yourself later on you got a manual. Small cars with peppy engines are best with manuals anyway so you did the right thing.

They are just modified mustangs but they are very limited and hold their value very well. In 99 the only produced 373 of them. Some come with superchargers and others are just suspension mods and the body kit, wheels and some minor engine mods. Its pretty much everyone thats into mustangs loves these cars and wants one, but now that the new cobra out they are slowly dieing. Also if your seeing alot out there thats because the factory is right in california. Its just pretty much a collectors car and mine hasnt even seen any water in its life yet.
