Has anyone seen the anime? It's awesome. I wish the series would go mainstream, people are really missing out on a great story. Dio has got to be one of the best anime villian in a while. And I love how the series has music refrences for character names. The two capcom games were great too(they put both on 1 disc for the psone and dreamcast). There was a japanese ps2 game but was never released here cause capcom doesnt like to americanize good games. Thoughts?

Good stuff. I'm also a fan of Western rock music references in anime/manga/games. If you haven't seen it already, check out the anime version of Bastard! (based on the manga of the same name). I'd recommend a fansubbed version, tho, as I think the commercial release had to change a few of the rock band names that were used, so as not to conflict with copyrights/trademarks (iirc).

JoJo's is an awesome manga and anime. If you play the game without ever having read the manga or watched the anime, it is just a mediocre game. The manga has been running since 1987 and it's at 80 volumes, spanning 6 generations. Generations 5 and 6 take up the vast majority of the manga volumes. The style of the manga is weird, but that's one thing that makes it unique I guess. Highly recommended to people who like fighting stuff.

Re: Re: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Speaking of Western rockband names being used in anime, then edited for the English releases, I wonder what will happen to Vanilla Ice in the R-1 release of Jojo's. His name was changed to "ICED" in the non-Japanese arcade version of the first Jojo's fighting game. However, IIRC, it was changed back to Vanilla Ice in the U.S. home console release of the game. I've only ever played the Japanese DC release -- can someone with the English edition of the console version enlighten us as to the name situation? How many of the 13 anime episodes have been released over here so far? Has Vanilla Ice even appeared at this point?
