Glad that came up. I actually sent the guy a PM inquiring about whether this was legit or not.

Looks like I know the answer already! :)

I hoping neo-geo 2 would have informed anyone interested about it. He is a good seller. Although he is selling something not widely liked by this community, there is a big difference in being a bad seller/scammer vs. selling questionable goods.

When I had a Pulstar conversion that I wanted to try and sell here before I put it on eBay, I left my description vague and told everyone in PM about it.

I don't care if he was going to be honest about it. This from the old UBB selling forum:

Sales of copyrighted material (CD-Rs), bootleg MVS cartridges, and home cartridge conversions are prohibited.

And I think there's a big difference between trying to sell a conversion (which is grey area), and something that is totally a HK special.

Well yes it did break forum rules as I'll admit I did when attempting to sell my conversion. But still being informative about what you are actually selling is the key. Did anyone PM him and get a reply back about it to see if he did that?

Bullfuckingshit dude. He knew 100% it was a boot. That makes him as bad as Japhei if you ask me. Trying to get things over on other members here pisses me off. People like that ruin this community.

The people that attempt to justify it are even worse. I wish you would all just go the fuck away.

I'm betting he knew it was a boot which I why I asked if anyone had bothered to PM him as if interested in the sale first to see if he would have informed you about that. It wouldn't really be getting things over on anybody if he told them it was a boot.

I'm not justifying him selling a boot, I'm justifying his selling techniques. What the public knows is meaningless t what the buyer knows.

Ok, now this ticks me off. I can't see the numbers 100% to be sure it's the same as the one he sold me, but I can pretty much guarantee that this is the bootleg that I sent back to him several days ago, considering I know he received my package yesterday afternoon.

Also, EvilMike posted the original discussion thread about this. As to why I waited so long to notify neo-geo 2 it was a combination of

1) I forgot
2) laziness on my part

which I admit to, but that's still no excuse to turn around and sell it as legit. If he was unsure of my claim of non-authentic he was more than welcome to ask for more information.

Not cool man, not cool...:oh_no:

I couldn't disagree more man. See I'll never buy anything from him now ever legit or not.

Doesnt say its a boot there. How can you tell, I don't see any eproms?

Yep, that is the same cart. I noticed something was up when I looked at the cart at the gathering. The contact end looks like the end of a Phantom 1. It's a custom PCB, no SNK markings anywhere. Has a whole bunch of different chips inside, not sure what they are but they aren't toshibas/sharps/or have the NGH #.

Notice, he didn't say it was official in that auction. He just said it works.

Ok now I'll admit somethings odd. C'mon Brian don't sell this crap without at least letting people know.

Just from looking at the picture in the auction, if that is a boot, that's one hell of a good one.

Serial numbers, no eproms. Could be a re-issue or a fixed cart, but I don't know much about these things.

It's a custom label. Just look at the corners. Anyone can print up a label and slap on serial #'s.

Yeah I know, but even a small side sticker with the serial number on it. Thing is, yeah anyone could do that, but why bother if you're going to make it look "real" then you'd have made a better damn label for the thing, those corners are too round.

That is a little wierd if you asked me, could be something done by SNK repair techs or something. I donno, but you're right there are no SNK markings on the PCB which doesn't seem right, even if it was a fix job.

You know I don't even think the boards in that picture are the same ones. Remember the reason we opened it up is because SSSensei noticed the boards were blue.

This is a full blown scam here folks.

Nah, that's the same one. The boards weren't blue, but the way the contacts look is like a Phantom 1.

It's kinda surprising to say the least. This guy has been all over GamesOnGames for scamming him out of some bucks, I can't believe after all of that he would pull some shit like this.:oh_no:
