I plugged in a recently acquired Art of Fighting home cart last night, and played the game for a while. In fact, I dont believe I have played that game for maybe 7 years or so.

All I can say is, the game rocks!!!! For its age, the music, sound effects, and graphics are simply divine.

I went all the way to Mr Big, and ran out of credits.... so I guess I will need to work at it some more.

The game just rocks, 11 years later:buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock:

That is what is so great about the Neo Geo. The games are absolute classics.:)

So, who here is a die hard AOF fan?

I have the series on MVS and just love playing AOF 2. The graphics are top notch, the music is awesome, and I especially like backgrounds in this version.

Takuma/Mr. Karate, Mr. Big, Eiji, Yuri, Ryo, and Robert are cool KOF (some SVC) characters, but I honestly couldn't care for their original AOF counterparts.

Who can't dig Mr. Big's style?

He may be one of the only pimps in fighting game history (I'm sure someone is waiting to give an obscure reference from a game I never played).

Strange how you brought this topic up. I myself just got an MVS copy of AOF.
Certainly a classic, but took some getting used to after all the KOF I've been playing.

I still think the AOF openning scene is one of the best in Neo.

Art of Fighting is the second game I paid in full price back in the early day. Nam'75 was the first game. Magician Lord I bought was used from Diehard Gamefan in Van Nuys, CA.

The first game I got for the MVS supergun I'll be getting is Art of fighting. That's right, I have the game, but no way to play it yet. I don't care, I love AoF!

Seriously though, why the hell did SNK make AOF 2 so damn hard? Its the first game I literally wanted to take a baseball bat to!

Die Hard Game Fan...... now I haven't thought about them in a long time. It was a great place. You could call their phone number, and listen to all the new releases coming out.

Was a great store, and a great magazine.

Do they still print the mag????

I am the proud owner of all three games. AOF 1 & 2 on AES, and AOF3 on MVS. AOF 1 is my favorite of the series. It just takes me right back into the arcade scene of the early nineties. Those were the good old days.:glee:

I love the AOF series. My NG fighting game of all time is AOF3. The motion capture is awesome! The most fluid NG game (using rotoscoping)! MOTW is another fluidly animated game (drawn by hand). But that motion capturing made the game more realistic. The music is top notch and the character design is great! The best in the series. I have this for CD and MVS (AES US version costs too much!).

I think most ppl don't like AOF series as much because its the Virtua Fighter of NG. Its slower than other fighting games and takes too much technique/skill to master. It is rewarding once you know how to play it though.

I wish they would make an AOF 4 but since ppl play Samurai Shodown and KOF more so I doubt it will happen :(....

awesome series

AOF's are awesome. These are definately ' the thinking mans fighter ' however it must be said that AOF2 is probably the hardest most unforgiving fighter i have played.

AOF is the daddy of fighters
