I don't understand Neostore's action.

*************************************************
I bought 4xSDB kit 1 weeks ago.

(as is the case,,Many country impose high Customs)
I asked for write on the package $15x4.
But Neostore enclosed $448 PAYPAL Receipt in the package.
& It caused high Customs(20%=$100)

NEOSTORE says It was totally my responsiblity.
I suggested a half pay...
But He ignore it ,,,

*************************************************
I hope hear other peoples opinion.
Who's fault ?

Asking anyone to lie to customs is a bad idea. I don't blame Mr. Biggs for not playing along.

It's a business, and I'm sure Shawn isn't going to lie on a customs form. It's illegal, and can get him into a lot of trouble.

Do other online stores lie on the customs form for you? I don't live over there so I don't know.

Some do.
When I've ordered from Tronix recently, the note inside the box just has the contents listed too, not their actual value.

When I got my SDB kit from Shawn last week, I had the same thing - one value on the customs form as asked, one much higher on the invoice. Next time I'm going to ask if he can send the invoice seperately (or hide it in the MVS kit box ;) )

I've noticed that my last THREE parcels have been open by customs...

I feel that it's tightening up in security at the mo. It is sorta illegal to lie to Customs and Excise here in the UK and if Shaun had put a lower figure on the box BUT the box had been opened with a higher invoice in the box... he can get into trouble...

Either way... your liable for the tax/customs duties on the invoice... hurts like buggery but it's the way it is...

NOW!! If he had NOT enclosed an invoice and just declared it on the box... you prob would've got away with it...

HOWEVER, enclosing an invoice is a business thing and to be expected...

The short and curlies of it matey is that YOU are liable for any import duties!!! NOT the seller!!!

btw. I got hit for £120 ($180 USD) in customs duties/tax the other day... but I never thought I should ask my mate Robert to pay for it... it's just the way it is:(

btw2. FOUR kits!!! I only needed ONE to play man!!

Who's fault ?

You would be at fault there for requesting a cmpany to lie to customs.

I kow paying duties/tax is a bitch but we all have to do it and if I were Shawn I wouldn't have done it either.

Do you think he has SNKP putting down 500 copies of SVC for $15 a piece?

Most shops do lie on these forms if you ask, Play Asia, The Rage, NCS, Coinexpress, Lik Sang (it's even the only thing Lan Kwei can do properly). In fact I can't think of single online shop that won't.

I understand Shawn does too.

If Shawn said he would, but didn't, then it seems he is partly responsible, it's very probably that our friend here wouldn't have gone through with the deal had he known he was going to be stung like this.

That said, if the outside was marked as requested but the parcel was opened and an invoice found, there is not much you can do about it. I think then Shawn would have fulfilled his side of the agreement and you would have to carry the can.

Who's fault ?

I shipped your order out same day, declared low value ($15 each) as instructed on customs form (you did not instruct me to exclude your invoice), packaged extremely well, included free SVC Chaos flyer & your original invoice. What better service could you ask for?

I'm sorry, but I will not pay your government any fees for your import tax. Please understand that if I pay your taxes, I have to pay everyone's taxes.

So customs opened the package and read the invoice?
How is this Shawn's fault whatsoever?

You rolled the die, and lost this time. Placing the blame on Shawn for your bad luck doesn't seem logical. Just step back and think about the situation.

Thanks for various opinions..

I have no intention to blame Shawn.
It was due to customs.
Some country's tax is very unreasonable.
If tax was 10%,, I will accepted.

You just got to grin and bare it as you have been highly unlucky it being opened

When i got my items of Shawn i paid over 400 dollars but the parcel only said 15 dollars on it and as such it wasnt opened so i never had to pay customs which was cool but i guess if it too had been opened i would have got stung as it had the invoice in

you should have asked for invoice to have been shipped seperate as i iknow some stores do this.

its not shawns fault

you are just unlucky that your customs decided to open the parcel as well

shawn is good enough to mark down the value, which i for one appreciate as it saves me money

Well it definitely was your fault, but I'm tempted to say the Neostore had some in there as well.

Just cause I'd like Shawn to pay my taxes for me too. :loco:

I used to buy from NCS and had them mark my package with a low value. I never had problems with NCS and I just checked some invoices that were sent with the itens and all of them have low value marked too.

I think Shawn share some resposability, because he agreed to mark the iten with a low value and placed the invoice with the original value.

Rule of thumb: Do not have invoices included in the same package in instances such as this. Have them sent letter mail or something for whatever the extra fee is (likely $1).

You should always assume your package will get opened and work backwards from there about what you really want any customs agents to find inside the box.

Words of wisdom.

Pretty weird that some of you guys were asking if declaring low values on parcels was common or not, by the way. *Outside the US*, everybody does. Fuck, I learnt the lesson quickly, when two years ago I had to pay about 200$ in taxes for my Rickenbacker 4003 bass guitar. Damn robbery.

Who would have known that your NOSEy CUSTOMS was going to crack open your package before you?? That SUCKS! I want to be the 1st person to crack open my parcel...
Consider this expensive knowledge and next time request that NO INVOICE be included with anything you order abroad..make sure your instructions are clear and concise.

I wonder what these people would say if they had to pay 60% of tax, for example:

SVC chaos = 335 USD
EMS = 30 USD
total = 365 USD

now take 60% of 365 and you I´ll end up with 219 USD

219 USD!!!!

Shawn did declare the package as you asked, it's not his fault that customs opened your package to inspect. I guess all you can do in the future is request no invoice be shipped with the package.
