sorry to say this, but it's no surprise to folks around here. buyrite is quite possibly one of the worst places to buy video game stuff from on the net or otherwise.

People connected to these forums and the DHP have been complaining about Buyrite since the mid 90's and rightly so.

buyirte and for those of you in california gamedude are the worst places to buy anything from. it amazes me how these places stay in business with employees whose gaming language consists of "grand theft auto," "grand theft auto vice city," and "madden," as all that they know about. and the worst thing is people still support them and for those of you who do, damn you for keeping them in business!!!

Buyrites horrible/lack of customer service is legendary.
I think most of the people here have had, or know someone who has had a bad experience with them.
I bought KoF2000 and Ikaruga from them. Horrible shipping, no customer service. But I did get my games in good shape. I was out for blood by the time my games came, and I was one of the lucky ones. I learned my lesson.
Buyrite needs to be put out of business period!

I only dealt with them when Gamefan was around and the ppl there were very rude. I only ran into 1 person there that was nice (prolly left to work at ncsx, where all the knowledable/nice gamers are).

And people still buy from them even though many of us have been warning people for years. Their bad reputation goes back probably a decade or more. I remember reading numerous threads on the usenet group rec.video.games.marketplace back in the mid 90s about how bad Buyrite sucked. They didn't package items worth a shit back then, and I can see by reading new complaints, nothing has changed.

Its sad that this company is still treating you guys like that...as stated above if you drive there and deal with them everything is great...There is a short Long haired guy that always works the register, or has as long as i've been going and he's friggin awesome in person...Knows anything you want to know about Neo Geo, Hell he located my cabinet for me. He's always helped me out when i go to the store. One day he ran to the back bitching a the guys to go to the "warehouse" to pick up some items for me that they had, but just not in the store. My only problem with buyrite is, that if you dont get that guy to wait on you, then prepare not to go anywhere for a while.

The lady you speak of is Susan. She rocks!! Back in the day(circa PSX/Saturn) her brother and/or husband( since they both have the same last name, I don’t know if she’s married or if it’s her brother), Peter was just as cool. I would call up and ask him tons of questions about stuff coming out and what he thinks will be a hot game. They even sent me a Christmas card a few times for being such a good(Bigtymer!LOL!!!) customer!
