PM sent.

You're probably going to have to ship the item first as you're REALLY new, just keep that in mind so if it comes up you don't get too shocked.

mh why should a "newbie" not be reliable - i know liu kang from a german neo-site and there are no indications of scammer ...

so please just let him sell his stuff (by the way, i don't think he will ship a garou first and receive the money later IMO)

also,

bump for a good guy :D

You obviously do not read these threads enough or if you do you do not pay attention to what they say.

Aaron Lewis, Jahpei, do those names mean anything to you? If not, I suggest you read up.

ANY person would be just plain silly to send money to a guy that posts a game onliine and says it's for sale. SO we have 7 posts and one exensive title... whether he's legit or not 9he probably is, but still) to me it looks unusual.

When you're dealing with somone new and the buyer is established, it is not usunual to send the game first. The guy from this forum that sold me my personal AES Metal Slug X and sent it to me first. I liked it's condition and sent him money 24 hours later. If a user I knew wanted me to send a game first, I would. If a newbie asked me to I would not.

That said, Ebay feedback means VERY LITTLE if you're new (if youve been around and people know you to be a good seller it can help). IF you bought from Japhei he would link you to CarolesCollecable 's feedbackwhich is some awesome looking feeback. You would lead most to think that it is safe to do business with him. But it is NOT and wea ll know it. I mean you wyou really buy from Japhei?

The only thing that is safe is building a reputation by dealing with reputable people.

I know about this. I am fairly new, and at the same time as of ANYONE would buy from or sell to me because I have taken the effort to prove myself. When I was new, I bought games from members and asked them to tell people that I did put the $ up. In fact my first transaction was a couple of hundred $ for Shock Boxes with Big Bear. I had never seen a shock box, but his rep was so strong that I knew I would be safe... and man am I glad I sent him the money a perfect transaction!

So I will state it again, I would NOT buy a game from a newbie without references and even then I would want the game sent to me first. And your saying, "I know the guy" like you did is NOT the same as saying, "I have done business with him on thses forums and it was good."

If you want to do things any other way, go for it!

I personally will error on the side of caution.

Rimms, I would have to say though ask if he has any refs before you jump and say you want him to send first. Ask for refs if its an eBay account don't just accept it, email that person to confirm it etc.

I don't believe you are wrong about sending first if he really has made no deals, but ask first.

@lithy

This is a general rule I was putting up for the new guy (i did not say it was 100%, but might be proposed).

He and I have no deal right now so there is no need for me to ask. Now if we had a deal, I would ask if it were OK.

It's nothing agianst him or being new. it is simply other's have scammed some users and the bar for establishing one's self has been moved up a notch thru no fault of his own.

Sending first is not unusual at all for a newbie, there is no insult. Obviously, it is only to be done with a trusted member and you should not have any qualms about challenging that member's reputation on the forums before you send.

I have done such a deal once, and as recently as this week I was happy to confirm to another party how well the deal went. If you mean to buy and sell here regularly - especially on big ticket items - then this is probably the best way forward.

Yeah, and ebay accounts don't work too great...The real way to tell if it's really that persons ebay account, is to email them through the ebay page, then have them respond. Then you know it's not somebody elses account.

Also, if you want more protection, you can have them set up an ebay auction for you to buy - there's ebay fees then, but at least you have ebay fraud protection.

Some thoughts :)
