I went to an anime club meeting and saw two rom whores playing games there on laptops.

They're everywhere!

edit: but most rom whores own xboxes, because they're cheaper to keep and maintain then computers

Screw you ppl, let them play NES games if they want to. Granted it isn't the law, I have absolutely no problem with anyone emulating a game that's no longer available on the retailers' shelves. What are they supposed to do, pick up Castlevania at the local Best Buy?

So? I used to play SNES games during physics. Great way to pass the time in a boring class. Why don't you lighten up.

actually it was for the college where I'm at right now, pasadena city college.

And if I join I get a card that'll give me a discount at my favorite anime shop (where I buy most of my games).

I know all about computer people trying to get hard. I knew one little bitch who was talking shit about me watching hentai and then I just turned right around and said how ugly his girl was. He tried picking up a chair, but I easily stopped his little bitch attack with one hand.

 they need to learn, :smirk: maybe I can beat it into them:mr_t:

PREACH IT!

I'm so sick and fuckin' tired of everyone yelling "ROM Whores" or something just because somone is playing NES/MegaDrive/MAME etcetera on their laptops or PCs, or even Super XBOXs'. I mean WTF? If you don't have a Super Gun, or can't find the older games (as mentioned above) you supossed to just not play the older stuff. For fuck's sake we're living within the fading light of 2-D, and only the stuff that PLAYMORE pumps out on the NEO, or Capcom doing stuff like Viewtiful Joe is keeping 2-D alive. *Originally the new Vampire Killer (Castlevania) game was to have been High-Res 2-D Sprites with 3-D backgrounds... but they decided to go full 3-D! *Thus if someone has a way to play the good ole' days of 2-D parallax insanity, more power to them, and if the companies are that pissed about ppl not owning the actual product... then they need to just re-release their older stuff on a DVD or some medium that could play the older stuff that ppl would no doubt buy.

Thus ROM Whores or not... the past is still alive and well, it's not totally right I know, but what can you do? Well other than flame someone for being Guerrilla anyhow.

Try reporting it to your teacher. Explain how it is illegal (point him to Nintendo's anti-emulation FAQ blurb deelie), and point out how it violates school district rules to have illegal files on your network drive (a privelidge, not a right). Maybe they'll get in trouble for it, and have to face legal action, I dunno.

At the beginning of the school year I found some NES ROMs on my Multimedia Class' computer that I use a lot, and my teacher just said "Delete them."

10 reasons why da romzz are better than the real deal:

1) They are Free!
2) You don't have to blow in the cartridge because the cart doesn't work
3) You don't have to get off ya ASS to change games
4) You can play games online
5) You can take your own screenshots
6) And record your own combo vids!
7) You can save your game without using a memory card
8) You don't need to use another plug socket
9) You always get a super-sharp picture
10)You can have a virtual jukebox of roms, bringing fun in forever!

"Teacher, Teacher!!! They're playing games for a 10+ year old system that is no longer in production!! Oh, the horror! Stop them!!"

I'm sure your classmates really appreciate your concern for Nintendo.

You might as well stand in the street and yell at people going 5 miles an hour over the speed limit. Or bitch at kids who are using an MP3 player.

The best course of action is to shut up and mind your own business.

Crap I just relaized that the famicon is almost 20 years old

Has it been that long?

I hope Nintendo does something special when it hits the 2 decade mark for the Fami/NES.

Yes. It came out in Japan in 1983.
I believe they are celebrating the Famicom by releasing some sort of special edition GBA system with the ultra-cool Famicom color scheme (Gold/Red/Beige). You can only win them through a contest...most unfortunate. :(

I don't know... I guess the fact that you can find any game anymore ... doesn't give much excuse for it other than they want cheap games.... and don't feel like paying people for them.

Indeed! Preach it! I totally agree with you. If its an NES game, for fucks sake let someone play it on their computer. I'll tell you now, I use an NES emu.

What! What bitches, I said it!

Dood, that is childish, It is just like being in middle school and saying " I am gonna tell on you!"
Let them do what the fuck they want I say, you cannot stop people from using roms. Maybe it is fun for them to play NES games in class while not doing work I doubt they want someone like you ruining there fun at all.
