I ahve always wanted to buy a neo-geo system when i was young but never had the money :(

I was wondering for any canadians out there, is there a shop that sells Neo Geo systems and games?? Perferably in Toronto...anyhting else in Canada is good as long as they are a reputable company to deal with.

I have lots of gaming to catch up to :buttrock:

Thanks

Me.

All the MicroPlays either closed down or modernized, and last time I checked all I could find at any of the stores was Top Player's Golf.

The Dragon Centre game store (Scarborough) has undergone a total makeover and no longer deal in all the vintage and quasi-legal stuff they used to.

Pacific Mall has nothing that would interest you. My friend found a LaserActive there a couple years ago but otherwise it's all new stuff again, just like at Market Village, all the places in Richmond Hill, etc. We lost another one when the Eaton Centre had it's Young Street wall re-vamped and probably the final one to go was Video Connection back in 2001 I believe. Shame too as they had a new US system I wanted to buy. Nobody knows whatever became of them nor their vintage stock.

So give me a call if you like. There is also !Arcade! in the GTA. Besides us...... nobody really.

The most I have found were NGPC games (thats why I have 3). Thats why I come here, and eBay.

Remember, our Dollar is pretty good right now, the conversion is not too bad.

Depending on what happens I will have a loose and boxed one for sale soon. Games are really only a matter of making requests.

!Arcade! you can learn more about at www.neogeousa.com

These days I just go to eBay and members of NG.com.

Years ago there was a local St. Catharines place that carried all the cool stuff (including Neo-- it's where I got my Neo Gold System back in '92 or '93), but it closed down in '97.

I find that most game shops around my area are lame. Other than !ARCADE! and NBM's Castle of Collectibles, I have never heard of any other Neo dealers around Ontario. Neo gamers like myself are rare to nonexistent over here in Brampton.

Since this seems to be a Canadian thread I'll pose a question What would shipping something like a large marquee cost to get to the states? Rough estimate is ok

Lithy,

My guess would be fairly cheap, if you roll it up and place it in a document tube. They are only a couple bucks, and it would not weigh much.

As for pocket games, I pretty much bought what ever I saw. Me and a buddy will look up all the game stores in the phone book and make a day of going to all of them ('till our money runs out).

I found some brand new sealed NGPC games at a store in Mississaga, but mostly I find used games, sometimes complete.

how-ever I'm a gamer, so I'll buy anything that works.

Depends if it's a flimsy one (most) or one of the hard plastic ones (ie. Bust-A-Move).

In the case of the former I would say $3~$5 depending on what kind of packing job one does. In the case of the latter, could be $10.

As if Jonathan (NBM) needed any more references (you can ask anyone on this site, mods included) I'd just like to give a big thumbs up to him as you won't find a better dealer anywhere.

As many here have also said, your choices in Canada are severely limited, besides Video Connections was the most expensive game store I've ever seen. Heck. they made Microplay blush. Their games were extremely overpriced (many used NES games were selling for over $100-Baseball Stars $150, for example).

As for Neo geo Pocket games, just call Video Games Plus as they still have a stock of systemss and games.
