whenever I goto the local gym and am there by 10AM there's always 'The Price Is Right' playing on the tv's next to the cardio equipment.. so I just get on one closest to the tv and watch. helps keep you on the machine longer giving your brain something to do. :eek_2:

Some Nickelodeon game shows... But I'm not sure if it's '80s... No game show can beat Jeopardy and The Price Is Right in any decade...

Wow I completely forgot about Finders Keepers, good call!

What was the show on Nickelodeon where kids first played arcade games and then at the end were actually put "in" a game? It was them riding a raft, or crossing a bridge, or something similar each time, and they had to duck or jump or catch things?

Edit, Woops, Your thinking of Nick Arcade, not Hidden Temple. Nick Arcade sucked compaired to Awesome Videogame Action, they accually gave away real arcade cabs if you won.

If you like old Nick game shows check out the Nick GAS channel. They have alot of the old Nick Gameshows.

No no, I know that show. That had the giant talking Aztec head that asked them questions.

The show I'm talking about was literally a video game type scenario where the kids were blue-screened over it. Think Sony 'Eyetoy' only really really cheesy and really really late 80s style.

It may have been simply called Nick Arcade or something to that effect.

There it is. The first part was two teams took turns moving a kid around a house (done in a videogame style). When he moved a square it was either, lose a turn, go back a space, answer a question, or take a video challenge, where you had to choose a game to play. You had a certain criteria like beating a certain score, or getting a certain amount of items.

At the end, kids were screened against a scrolling background with items and crap. And had to physically move their body around to play the game. When I was young it blew my mind.

You got your shows mixed up, or I'm reading it wrong.

The one were the kids went in the game is Nick Arcade.

The one with the Aztek head his name is Omek was called Ledgends of the Hidden Temple.

Both shows are on the GAS channel

That show was awesome, but not 80's.

There was some show where kids had to go through this multi level big maze thing, like a HUGE Mcdanolds playpen
funzone? or something like that???

Don't forget all the "White's Metal Detectors" they gave away too.

Do you happen to remember the week where all the contestants played was Dragon's Lair? The grand prize was a trip to Hawaii, and the loser got to take home an arcade unit of Dragon's Lair. I don't know about you, but I think I would've thrown a match just to guarantee a free Dragon's Lair game for my living room. :tickled:

Another game show I like was Remote Control. Kari Wuhrer alone made that show worth watching, and Colin Quinn was actually funny back then, unlike the last ten years.

I'd have to say the PRICE IS RIGHT.

For some reason, I remember watching it whenever I was home sick from school or if there was an unexpected snowday. Good memories! :buttrock:
