ADVENTURE: Either Super Mario Brothers or Super Mario Brothers 3, got both the same Christmas and I can't remember which I played first. (I wonder.. :))

Racing: Some cheapo LCD handheld racing game (1989-ish). If that doesn't count: F-1 Race (GB) (1996)

Fighting Game: Tough to place... probably SF2 on a SNES somewhere in elementary school

Shooting: (not sure if it counts) Duke Nuke'm on PC (the platformer) (1997) (actually I'm not totally sure on the year)

Adventure: Super Mario Land, 1991 (not totally sure on the year)

this is like so impossible so i will list a few of the first i remember playing:

rpg: final fantasy III (SNES) best fucking rpg of all time
racing: pole position (some old fucking console or maybe amiga/commodore?)
fighting: some boxing game with a kangaroo and shit. (amiga or commodore?)
shooting: holy shit ummm some game that chanted "danger! danger! danger!" in an electronic voice whenever u approached the boss (amiga or commodore?) also twin eagles (NES)
adventure: D&D for intellivision i think. also Zelda (NES), Castlevania (NES) and Willow (NES)

meh ... there were no real (atari, nintendo, sega ...) video games in the gdr. (german democratic republik) all i played during the 80s were homebrew pac-man & snake clones.
