Final Fantasy topic " the Pink Puff annoyance"

I have poured 50+hours into Final Fantasy 2 ((4 in Japan)) hours trying to get the Pink Puffs in the Final Lunar stage to spit up a tail .

For those in the dark about this ...there is a certain room in the final dungeon in Final Fantasy 2 in wich if you walk around forever you will eventually encounter a random battle with a creature called "Pink Puff" they themselves are hard as hell to encounter , and when you finally defeat them there is a 1 of 40 chance you will win a "Pink Tail" as a dropped item .

The Pink Tail can be traded for another chunk of ADAMANT from the tail collector back on earth ...you can then bring the adamant to smithy and he will make Adamant armor for you ((strongest armor in the game))

Has anyone actually pulled this off ? I have encountered Pink Puffs about 20 times ...and no luck ...it seems impossible .

Since your chareacters attack at random, you need to try and have your 3 stringest attack first before the random attack takes effect. You had to fight them about 15+ times to get that damn thing. I don't remember if magic worked on them or not, I haven't played the damn thing in over a year, but try to summon Buhamut or Odin and see what happens.

Let me know what your result is, I just might have to play the game again to help you out any further.

Whoa, I love FF2 to death, and I knew nothing about this adamant armor! Sounds like over kill, but cool never the less.

Man, FF2/4 is still the best FF if you ask me.

He said the last dungeon, so... duh. Yeah, it's on the moon.

FF2/4. BEST EVER. What a great atmosphere in that game. Great music, characters, level system, and magical effects (for the time, they were mind blowing). Just pure class.

I've had Adamant Armor once. Only once. However, by the chance I got it, my characters were so high leveled, that I didn't need it. It's defense power is so much higher then Cecil's best armor that it isn't even funny. It's bloody crazy.

Here's exactly how to get it.

In the Lunar subterrane, in the level that has three romms, all next to one another, with a save point in the room on the left, and Pink Puff in the left. yes, it's the ribbon (i believe) room. They appear randomly, a 1 in 64 chance, and a similar chance that one will drop one. I used the Alarm item to bring them to me, and many Alarms later, as well as a lot of state loading, I got one. A pink tail.

Once that's done, you take the tail to the same guy you got the adamant from the first time. take the adamant to the smith, and the adamant armor is yours!

Well I knew that info allready....but mabye I will try the alarm ...perhaps it will help me encounter more pink puffs .
