yeah, I bought this GBA called Boktai, I think it pretty fun right now but, WHY ISN'T THE FUCKING SUN UP! need sun to kill immortals....RISE DAMN YOU!

little angry,
M-A-D

Well about the game is about a vampire hunter, "solar boy," (yeah that's stupid), whose father was slain by a vampire, the vampires are known as Immortals, you and your Navi...erm sun friend try to defeat the immortals with your solar gun, but the solar gun only stuns monsters and immortals, ya have to bring the coffin back to a device called the pile driver which works on solar energy from the sun.

ok, game is fun til your gun runs out of solar energy at night time BUT, there is a generator that had solar energy in it, they is multiple parts to your solar gun, single shot, spread, and many more I hope. Bad thing, you have to go outside in the sun to freely recharge your gun, and to kill an immortal with the pile driver device. But, enemies are weaken in the sun and powerful at night. normal house light...nope ya need UV light to power up your solar bar showing how much light is outside in game.

Yeah I am gonna get this too. It seems very interesting and also I love the 3/4 view. It reminds me of Landstalker and Dark Savior. ;)

This should really have been released last spring. Since we're currently nearing late September with daylight savings time and shorter days soon upon us, the sunlight gimmick this game relies on will be hindered.

I think there's an important reason for it being released...

Hideo Kojima is an asshole.

I mean, we've seen this sort of exhibition before with MGS2, a Metal Gear game in which you didn't play as Solid Snake for most of the game. Hell, if they had managed to drag out Meryl and let you play as her, that wouldn't have been so bad.

really ya don't wanna be in the sun all day, unless YOUR NOT A TRUE GAMER! Really my eyes are not for the sun, I am squinting my eyes in the shade to play this game. I am a night owl really.

If it uses UV rays, a Black light should fix the problem, yes?

I might have to try that. Though Loopz told me that he read that no artificial lights had an effect on the sensor. Hmm.

I cheated myself :) I got a vamp in a coffin and was all ready to pile drive that thing, and sure enough, it was dark as hell outside... So, I grabbed a halogen light and got the device running (had to hold the SP in a way that the light was dead-on the cartridge, so I didn't employ this technique for too long)

It only gave me one bar of sun though... But it worked for when I needed it! :)

Still, fun game, I always like the gimmick-type games, and this one so far has me sold. Today I was walking around my house, hanging outside, played it while waiting in my car just to charge up my solar gun in the light for a couple of seconds. It's like an isometric Castlevania, with some Zelda-like puzzles so far.

Just felt like adding in some more points after a longer play session :)

-The game isn't completely unplayable w/o sun, it's just impossible to finish the immortal sessions (kinda lame, and I didn't have my light today...). But the undead sections are easily playable: I got more done last night without the sun because there are these little green spots that will give you life, solar energy, or black solar energy (takes away solar) and they're everywhere.

-Nothing so far has come off difficult. Puzzles are pretty simple, lots of push crate/stand on this switch/pull these switches/etc. type stuff. If you're tired of games like this, look elsewhere.

-Plot is paper-thin, character says "...", the flower-sun thing with the cool name seems to create most of "teh drama"

-The action is pretty cool though, I like the different weapons, nothing you probably haven't seen before, but you'll find which frames are the most effective and everything else becomes useless. You get plenty of items from the enemies as well, so boss fights = cake. And there's hidden stuff everywhere, most likely if there's visually nothing in a corner, press A and you'll probably open up a hidden chest.

-I can't figure out how to put more energy in the solar stations, WTF?

-Dragging a coffin out of the castle: so far, doesn't seem like such a hassle (there's usually a faster way out that presents itself after beating the boss), but I can see this becoming tiring to some.

-You get graded for each section you pass (for example: how long it takes you, how many enemies spot you), I like that.

All in all, nothing revolutionary, looks great though. Todays a bit overcast, so I'm curious to see how the game will play out...
